DeFi yield farming at 1-2 digit APYs is not enough; it requires a right-tail payoff to compensate for increasingly fat left tails from exploit risk.
In 2023–2025, my right tail came from multiple airdrops. In 2025, it was mainly the Plasma ICO predeposit vault.

So far, 2026 hasn’t delivered a big win yet. I’m strictly capping my allocation per protocol and using safe leverage to maximize EV, while increasing my allocation to traditional investments in preparation for DeFi becoming clearly EV-negative.

SOL was the best coin to farm until many delta-neutral vaults were introduced.
Eventually, I had to switch to arbitrage on smaller coins. At one point, my $DRIFT position was so large, roughly 1/3 of the on-chain liquidity, that I had to sell via a CEX to avoid market impact.

Trading there was a major pathway for building my portfolio.
