The best chess tools aren't always built by huge teams.
Sometimes they're built by someone who actually loves the game.
That's what makes Chessie interesting to me.
It's made by a chess player, for chess players, with the kind of attention to detail that comes from a solo founder building something they genuinely care about.
And honestly, I like backing projects like this.
Not because they have the biggest team or the loudest marketing, but because there's a player behind the product who understands the problem they're trying to solve.
Chess is a game of patience, pattern recognition and const

I didn't expect a browser extension to make me nostalgic for the era of desktop pets.
Then I found Arcrawls.
It takes the old Tamagotchi/Shimeji idea and gives it a surprisingly modern twist.
Instead of just walking around your screen, Arcrawls can react to what you're browsing. It can pick up page signals, change its mood, react to activity, and even chat with you.
But the part that really caught my attention is where the AI runs.
Locally.
No cloud LLM receiving your browsing context. The optional Brain Upgrade uses on-device models, while Lite Mode can run without downloading an AI model at

Maybe productivity apps have been getting it backwards.
We keep building planners that make us feel bad for not following the plan perfectly.
Red overdue tasks. Broken streaks. Endless notifications.
CapyPlan takes the opposite approach.
It starts with a simple assumption: life happens, and you won't always follow your plan.
So instead of punishing you for unfinished tasks, CapyPlan lets them roll over quietly. You can even mark something as “Tried,” because showing up still counts.
And yes, your daily planner comes with a capybara.
You can brain-dump messy thoughts, turn them into manageable

You don't need a perfect plan to begin.
You only need the courage to take the first step.
Happy New Week.
May it be productive.

One of the most overlooked problems in healthcare happens after the appointment.
You heard the doctor. You asked questions. You received instructions.
Then you get home and realize you can't remember half of it.
That’s the problem AI Doctor Notes is built around.
It is a patient-first app that helps you prepare questions before a visit, capture what was discussed when appropriate, turn the conversation into a clear summary, and keep track of instructions and next steps.
What I find more interesting is the philosophy behind it.
Most AI medical scribes are built to help doctors document faster.
