UNPOPULAR OPINION:
hyperliquid listing hot memecoins like $ANSEM and $CASHCAT is bullish
seeing a lot of people complain about hyperliquid listing these new memes
i completely disagree, in the past, i had to use other DEXs and even CEXs to trade assets that hyperliquid simply didn’t list
not ideal if you want to build a sticky user base
it’s simple: if people want to trade an asset, give them the opportunity
yes, memes carry risk for the HLP vault (see jelly-jelly), but the team has gotten much better at quickly delisting dead low volume coins so i’m not that worried about that anymore

the real reason why $HYPE is trading 24x higher than $LIT
for hyperliquid, you know you’re directly owning a piece of the exchange
99% of the trading fee revenue is used to buy back and burn the token
with lighter, you’re currently betting on future ownership
as vlad stated, this depends on regulatory clarity being passed
this doesn’t make it a bad investment, it just comes with additional risks around the ownership question compared to hyperliquid
that said, if regulatory clarity does get passed and token holders receive real ownership in the exchange, it would be a major bullish catalyst fo

bought a decent $LIT bag below 90 cents
also took a few longs along the way but i’m out of all of them now
still holding my spot bag
i think Lighter is a strong beta play on hyperliquid, with solid bullish catalysts around US regulations and upcoming integrations
exited my longs because the short term open interest to price ratio looks a bit overextended
long term, their success will heavily depend on how well those integrations go and how much user growth/volume they can actually bring to the platform
all that said, holding $LIT without any $HYPE exposure is pure cope
