Idk what amazes me more, that we have AI improving mathematics now or that we got the AI to do so by telling it words of encouragement over and over. Crazy.

Probably as simple as waiting for the vol expansion and being quick to tail it. Whether up or down we probably get a strong move from here and I think the goal is to capture 75% of that.
Tldr; With big moves there's enough meat on the bones that you don't have to preposition.

@TheCryptoNexus Also Asia and Europe is more cramped, smaller houses, smaller streets, smaller stores, etc. So people from there generally value personal space less than Americans which then comes off as rude to the Americans.

I think one of the main investment themes of the coming years is going to be a closing of the K shaped economic spread.
Many don't understand that in our current situation with so much debt, the high interest rates are actually stimulative. Specifically it's stimulative for those who already have money, and restrictive for those without. The US government spends more money on paying people interest than it does on defense, it's tossing out $1T every year and it's specifically giving it to people who already have money. When rates eventually lower that dynamic changes. Less free interest for th

One important thing I don't see being discussed much regarding oil price being a recession indicator is the relative impact of the price.
When considering the price of something, you're leaving out half of the equation if you aren't also considering the available buying power.
If the cost of the inputs to a company doubles but that company also has twice as much income, nothing really changed for them.
Companies/people have A LOT more money now. Oil would have to go to like $300-400 to have the same impact as when it went to $150 in 2008.
I don't think $100 oil is straining things as much as p

The 1st order conclusion of this is that it's good for AI providers because it reduces their costs.
The 2nd order conclusion of this is that it enables people to run some quite powerful models on just their 32GB Macbook and they'll no longer need to pay AI providers.
I think we're getting close to the point where local models are good enough for most people and I'm unaware of any kind of moat OpenAI/Anthropic has to prevent them from leaving. At least Google has an ecosystem around it so they can provide unique value that ties into those services.
