The happiness in life often comes from doing things that are utterly useless.
When I was little, I didn’t have many toys, but there was one game: my dad would throw me a bunch of internal reference materials, and I had to pick out the incorrect sentences and misspellings from them.
Another way to play was this: if you changed the wording, would it be better?
Obviously, there was absolutely no point to any of it. It had no value—whether it was right or wrong, whether it was better or worse, or whether any of it was worth anything at all.
But with a single internal reference, I could pla

Back when we were doing infrastructure projects, we collaborated with many KOLs, even during the bear market when it was a flood of investments.
I still remember once I went to @Paris13Jeanne's space and said I was going to allocate funds to every female KOL present.
Actually, we have a complete set of methodologies and screening standards in the middle office.
High-tech. Carefully selected.
That day, all the KOLs present were on the list.
Coincidentally, one of them pretended to be someone else.
I think this is a very interesting thing.

Yesterday, I walked here in one straight shot from Zhizhu Temple.
This place is really completely empty once night falls.
I’m fairly familiar with the North and South Pools—if you go farther west, there are sentries every three steps, and you can’t take photos.
When I got to this pitch-black, barren mountain, I suddenly remembered that I seemed to have been here before.
I picked up my phone and sent a voice message to Director Hua—last time, weren’t we here together?
He said we were.
In addition to the memory anchor of Director Hua—those ugly-but-pretty meals—I added another temple

Friends are being sent off one after another in the circle of friends.
They are all men, each with their own way of leaving.
I really feel that the men of my age group are not in great shape.
This batch of big, middle, and small nouveau riche, blown up by the spring breeze of reform, are all vigorously damaging their bodies.
And they also have no faith, they are all about drinking today and getting drunk today, then waking up tomorrow to continue their indulgence.
To be honest, I have considered not getting married either, because I truly believe that these old men won't outlive me—e

Fuxue Hutong is famous in Dongcheng.
It's that time of year again for the college entrance exam. This memory feels so long ago to me.
Actually, back then, it was popular not to go to university. I have many friends who dropped out after going to college—
If not going to college is considered a fashion, then taking the civil service exam is something everyone "sneers at."
Probably, attending university was the bottom line of compromise with my family. Taking the civil service exam was absolutely out of the question.
Hahaha, current events still seem like a dream.

Zhang Xiaolong is also not easy to deal with.
I didn’t expect that Chalk.com, after all the murmuring, would still end up going public on the Hong Kong stock exchange. I went to check the market value too, and it wasn’t much.
In the past, we didn’t really want to have too much contact with him. His name is just too tightly撞—colliding—with Zhang Xiaolong.
It’s like there used to be a singer named Wang Yang in China’s Got Talent—just by looking at the name, this person couldn’t possibly catch fire.
Is he definitely calling people to speculate in stocks, not to trade cryptocurrencies? Com

I feel a bloodline kind of affection for lush bamboo. Probably because I’ve absorbed too many traditional standards of beauty.
In traditional aesthetics, it’s been endowed with so many beautiful qualities. And in itself, it also matches today’s aesthetic of “tall and slender,” as well as the “green” that most truly refreshes and delights the heart.
Each individual great green line shoots up from the ground, taking no detours, straight into the sky—so it’s basically something you ought to set up and worship at home like bamboo.

The tower inside Zhenjue Temple is an old artifact. The temple has burned down, collapsed, and been sold several times, but this large tower has remained.
It enshrines five Buddhas, among them one is the Golden-winged Dapeng. This is the first time I see a tower dedicated to this figure.
The tower has five ➕ a glazed canopy.
The carvings on the walls are exquisite, depicting a thousand Buddhas with identical images.
Autumn is the best time to see it here, as the ginkgo trees turn golden.

Zhonghai Daji Lane has sculptures of the twelve zodiac signs 🐈.
Besides the commercial district, there is also the former residence of Kang Youwei and several small museums. They also frequently hold exhibitions.
It is a relatively trendy new neighborhood in the southern city. It didn't exist before.
This place is at Caishi Kou, previously a place associated with executions.
I wonder if the fact that these mythical beasts are painted red has any meaning of warding off evil or suppressing spirits.
Anyway, everything in the southern city is quite mystical.

In April, clear and gentle rain suddenly clears,
South Mountain stands by the door, becoming distinctly visible.
No more willow catkins rising with the wind,
Only sunflowers tilt toward the sun.

The realm of profound mystery.
Xuanwu Gate Church. Established by Matteo Ricci in the 13th year of Wanli, expanded by Antoine Thomson in the 7th year of Shunzhi. Rebuilt after a major fire in the 40th year of Qianlong. Destroyed during the Boxer Rebellion in the 26th year of Guangxu. Reconstructed again in the 30th year of Guangxu.
Truly, in the pages of history, the change of imperial power and the persistence of religion coexist.

Take a walk through the hutongs at Qianmen—there are still many details and particularities to be found within.
It seems that the old houses I went to see in Shanxi are much the same.
The location of an office should still be very important; otherwise, why would all these celebrities choose to live near the Imperial City?
Living in remote suburban districts and counties would make people feel like they can’t get into anything. For ordinary people, buying a big house out in the suburbs like that feels especially rooted in an agrarian way of life.
They’re not Taoists hiding away in deep

Old Man Chuan comes in, and Lao (Deng) Qian gets excited again—about making money.
All those public-chain foundation groups are hungry too. Greater China has gotten pulled into another round again.
Even so-called family offices, trusts, and “third-tier lines and third-tier industries” all think they’re back in business. They’re starting “RWA” and “compliance” again 🤷.
Ask me and I’ll just say: I don’t do compliance. If it’s non-compliant, then go ahead—try to help me up.
Truth is, I only like non-mainstream, off-the-books funds—preferably the kind that come from a few useless idiots g

The weather in May is perfect for going out more often. There are only a few days in the year when it's neither too hot nor too cold and you can travel light.
Recently, I've become obsessed with walking through alleys.
In the past, I only saw Qingyun Road, wanting to wear high shoes and beautiful clothes, swinging like a painting, eating and drinking in the most private and expensive hotels, calculating time into money, afraid to take an extra step, but in fact, it's all just... my two illusions of Danqing.
Of course, maybe it's because I'm getting old. I realize that everything is just

I go to Chunshan to practice alchemy, and even the wild gods can achieve and certify the Golden Immortal.
On both sides of the Great Dao, all face the heavens—I sketch a rough shape, sitting in the middle.

It rains all day under the eaves.
Yesterday I went to the Rose Garden.
Afraid of missing the blooming period.
Time flies like lightning in a flash.
Wealth and fame are naturally not pursuits of the heart.
Simple food and coarse clothing are enough according to one's means.

Today, Old Man Huang and Old Man Ma took over the alley where I usually stroll every day.
Forget it, forget it—getting two old guys to cross the ocean isn’t easy; let them see what the alley is like.
After avoiding a few old dudes, I headed west.
Life has many paths with splits north and south—don’t bother me about going for a walk.
