I have never understood why Safaricom Mpesa can reverse money send from bank or any other source upon request without consulting the person funds sent to, I think they deliberately do this!

The Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP) Act, 2025 took effect on 4 November 2025.
It requires crypto exchanges and other virtual asset service providers operating in or from Kenya to be licensed and comply with capital, AML, governance and other requirements.
Providers were given one year to transition and comply with the deadline set for 4 November 2026.
So far I have not seen any crypto exchanges or VASPs publicly confirmed as licensed under the new framework.
Let’s see how things unfold by the deadline haha!
