Spectra Governance Proposal SGP-20 has taken effect, with new SPECTRA issuance reduced to zero.
Wu said that the DeFi yield trading protocol Spectra announced that governance proposal SGP-20 has been passed and enacted. Starting July 2, 2026, SPECTRA weekly emissions will drop to zero, with epoch 80 being the last cycle containing emissions. Spectra stated that this change only affects new SPECTRA supply; protocol trading, fixed-term markets, MetaVaults, and fee generation will continue to operate as usual. Gauge emissions, SGP-19 liquidity wallet allocations, and rebase are all set to zero, while veSPECTRA locking, governance, voting rights, and treasury fee accumulation mechanisms remain unchanged. Previously, in 2026, nearly all protocol activity came from markets outside the emission plan, with DEX trading volume exceeding 1.6.
