SOUTH KOREA'S NEW FILM 'CRYPTO MAN' REVEALS THE DARK SIDE OF THE CRYPTO WORLD ON THE BIG SCREEN



South Korean cinema is in the spotlight with a new independent film that focuses on the collapse of TerraUSD and LUNA in the cryptocurrency market in 2022. Titled 'Crypto Man', this production addresses the addiction of young people to stock trading during the day and cryptocurrency speculation at night, as well as the tragedies they experience in this process with dark humor elements.

The film's director Harry Hyun, in his statement to JTBC, used the expression, "We wanted to reflect the reality of young people's addiction to stock market during the day and crypto speculation at night." He also emphasized the dramatic structure of the story by stating that the main character made a "irreversible decision."

Starring the late famous actor Song Jae-rim, who passed away in November 2024. Jae-rim portrays a character who develops an altcoin called MOMMY and presents himself as a business genius. This role will go down in cinema history as the actor's final performance.

'Crypto Man' will meet the audience in South Korean cinemas on January 15, 2025. There is no information yet about the international screening schedule of the film.

As a result, the 'Crypto Man' film aims to deliver important messages to the audience by strikingly addressing the risks of the cryptocurrency world and the addictions of young people in this field.
