The Nasdaq plunged 5.5%. Is buying the dip in Nvidia now a steal or catching a falling knife? I’m watching these three signals!
Every time U.S. stocks plunge, two camps emerge: one says the opportunity is here and urges investors to buy the dip; the other says the selloff isn’t over and warns against getting stuck holding the bag. On Thursday, the Nasdaq plunged 5.5%, Nvidia fell more than 9%, and AMD sank 17%. Should we be greedy or fearful this time?
My view: It’s worth starting to look for opportunities, but don’t mistake one day of plunges for confirmation of a bottom.
Why? Because behind this selloff are not only short-term emotional reactions, but also longer-term issues such as returns on AI capital expenditure, data center construction regulations, and financing costs. The Nasdaq has entered correction territory, and the market needs time to reassess the fair valuations of tech stocks.
I’ll focus on three signals.
First, whether Nvidia and AMD can gradually stabilize, and whether trading volumes return to normal.
Second, whether giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon continue to maintain AI capital expenditure, and whether these investments can translate into actual revenue.
Third, whether the market broadly stabilizes over the next few trading days, rather than seeing only a handful of heavyweight stocks rebound.
If these signals gradually improve, quality chip stocks may present an opportunity to build positions in stages. But if earnings expectations continue to be revised down, cheap stocks could get even cheaper.
The biggest investment risk isn’t missing the bottom, but mistaking every decline for the last chance to buy at a discount. You can be bold about buying the dip, but it’s best to keep some powder dry in your account! #每周来晒 and #美股史诗级抛售
