In my view, while U.S. policy expectations will be the primary factor influencing Bitcoin’s next major move, leveraged liquidations will play a key role in determining the intensity of that move.

I see three key factors:

1. U.S. policy expectations – The primary driver. Federal Reserve interest rate decisions, inflation data, monetary policy, and regulatory developments can all impact institutional demand, liquidity, and the overall appetite for risk assets. A more favorable policy environment could support a sustainable BTC rally.

2. Leveraged liquidations – A short-term accelerator. A liquidation volume of approximately $960 million is significant. Forced selling can intensify downturns, while the liquidation of short positions can trigger rapid upward movements. However, rallies driven by liquidations may not be sustainable without fresh buying demand.

3. Geopolitical developments – The wildcard. Escalating conflicts, trade tensions, and global uncertainty can trigger sudden volatility. While Bitcoin may occasionally benefit from demand for alternative assets, it can also face selling pressure alongside other risk assets.

The most critical question right now is whether BTC can remain above $80,000 driven by genuine spot demand, rather than just forced buying.

Recent market data indicates that of the $963 million in total liquidations, approximately $562 million stemmed from the liquidation of short positions—suggesting that the recovery has been fueled, in part, by the closing of these short positions. I need to watch for three signals:

* BTC holding in the $80,000–$82,000 range.

* Consistent positive inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs.

* A shift in Federal Reserve expectations toward looser monetary policy conditions.

My ranking of factors:

* U.S. monetary and regulatory policy.

* Liquidations of leveraged positions.

* Geopolitical developments.

Ultimately, while liquidations create volatility, liquidity and sustained investor demand determine the direction of the broader trend.

My view: The next sustainable Bitcoin rally will require institutional buying—not just a squeeze driven by liquidations.
