#BTCBackAbove80K #ShareWeekly $BTC #DailyStandouts

BTC is back above $80K, and the part I find more interesting is who pushed it there. Two days ago the question was whether 76K would survive. Price dipped to about $75.6K around the midterm results, then bounced roughly 6% back over $80K in a matter of hours. Here is how I read it.

1. The bounce had a lot of fuel in it

Roughly $950M of crypto positions were liquidated in 24 hours, and about $560M of that was shorts. That is around 59% short liquidations. When shorts get forced to buy back, price jumps fast, but that is borrowed momentum. It fades once there are no more shorts left to squeeze.

2. The buyer I’m still waiting for

US spot ETF flows were negative for three sessions in a row: about $640M, $400M and $115M. That is roughly $1.16B out in total. The outflow is shrinking, which beats it growing, but shrinking outflow is not inflow. A rally with no steady spot bid behind it is one I treat carefully.

3. The distance map (from my daily chart, price around 80,400)

Up: 82,108 is about +2.1%, and 84,184 is about +4.7%.

Down: 77,136 is about -4.1%, 76,260 is about -5.1%, 75,500 is about -6.1%, and 73,229 is about -8.9%.

So the first upside target is about 2% away, while the first real floor is about 4% away. For a fresh long at 80K that is roughly 1 to 2 against me. The risk/reward gets better closer to 77K, not here. The election low near 75.6K also sits just under my 76,260 support line, so that area is stacked and would matter a lot on a deeper dip.

4. Momentum is neutral, not strong

RSI is sitting near 50, and MACD is still below its zero line, only starting to curl up. That looks like a reset, not a trend change. I’d want RSI holding above 55 and a clean MACD cross before calling this a new leg.

5. The macro backdrop

Election uncertainty faded, and hopes for easing US-Iran tension pulled oil lower. That helped yields and pushed stocks up, with Nasdaq around +1.4%. It is a relief trade, and relief trades tend to fade unless data backs them up. Tomorrow’s US payrolls is the next real test. A strong print could reduce hopes for near-term easing, and a weak one could do the opposite. Either way, I’d expect big swings.

My take: 80K is the middle of the range, not a breakout. I see this as a recovery inside a rough 76K to 82K box. I’m not chasing here. For a real push toward 84K I want a daily close above 82,100 and ETF inflows showing up. If daily closes slip under 77,100, I’d expect another look at the 75.5K area. Until one of those happens, patience is my position.

Not financial advice.

What do you trust more right now: ETF flows or price action? And are you positioning before tomorrow’s payrolls, or waiting for the number?
