#GateLaunchesTaiwanStockTrading
Gate has taken another step toward connecting digital assets with traditional financial markets by officially introducing Taiwan stock trading. This is an interesting development because it gives users access to another major Asian equity market without needing to completely change the way they manage their trading funds.
The first launch includes 19 stocks listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, covering some of the most important areas of the technology and financial industries. Names such as TSMC, MediaTek, Hon Hai, Quanta and Chunghwa Telecom are part of the initial selection.
What makes this launch particularly interesting is the connection between USDT and traditional stock trading. Users can buy and sell supported Taiwanese stocks directly using USDT through their existing stock account. There is no need to separately convert funds into New Taiwan dollars before placing an order.
Another useful feature is fractional-share trading. Users can start with as little as 0.01 share instead of purchasing a complete share. This makes it easier to allocate smaller amounts across different companies rather than committing a large amount of capital to a single stock.
The pricing system is also worth understanding. Although USDT is used for trading, stock prices, portfolio values and profit or loss are displayed in New Taiwan dollars (TWD). Applicable trading fees are converted and deducted in USDT. This gives users a familiar view of the Taiwanese market while keeping their funding process within the existing platform.
Trading follows the Taiwan Stock Exchange's regular continuous trading session, from 9:00 AM to 1:25 PM Taiwan time (UTC+8) on normal trading days. Users can also manage orders, positions and transaction history through the same stock account.
For me, the bigger development is what this means for Gate's overall financial ecosystem.
The platform now covers five major equity markets: the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, with more than 12,800 stocks and ETFs available across its stock trading services.
Taiwan is particularly important because of its position in the global semiconductor and electronics supply chain. Companies involved in advanced chip manufacturing, AI infrastructure, electronic components and telecommunications have become increasingly relevant as demand for computing power continues to grow.
Adding Taiwanese equities gives users another way to explore these industries alongside the other markets already available.
Of course, wider market access does not automatically mean lower investment risk. Stock prices can fluctuate, currency conversion can affect the final value of holdings, and investors still need to understand the companies they choose.
What I find most interesting is the direction of this development. Crypto users are becoming more interested in traditional financial assets, while trading platforms are expanding beyond digital currencies into stocks and other markets.
Gate's Taiwan stock launch is another example of that transition. Instead of treating crypto and traditional finance as completely separate environments, the platform is bringing more asset choices into one account experience.
For users who already manage funds in USDT, having access to Taiwanese companies through fractional trading adds another layer of flexibility.
The bigger story is not simply the addition of 19 stocks. It is the continued expansion of the connection between digital-asset infrastructure and global financial markets.
