Gold is showing renewed strength after a difficult correction, but I think the latest recovery deserves more attention than simply calling it another bullish move.

The metal had been under pressure as a stronger US dollar and rising Treasury yields reduced its appeal. Now the situation has shifted. Following the US midterm election results, the dollar weakened and bond yields declined, creating room for gold to recover.

The political outcome has changed expectations around the economic direction of the United States. Democrats gaining control of both chambers of Congress has raised the possibility of legislative gridlock, while investors are reassessing future fiscal policy and its impact on economic growth.

For gold, the reaction in the dollar and bond market is particularly important. When the dollar weakens, gold becomes relatively cheaper for international buyers. Falling yields can also make holding gold more attractive because the metal does not pay interest.

However, I would not assume that the political developments alone will keep gold moving higher.

Interest-rate expectations remain a major challenge. Stronger employment conditions and persistent inflation concerns could encourage tighter monetary policy. If expectations of higher interest rates increase again, the dollar and Treasury yields could recover, putting pressure on XAUUSD.

From a technical perspective, $4,000 is now the first major level I am watching. Gold needs to maintain acceptance above this psychological region rather than immediately falling back below it.

The next resistance area is around $4,100. A convincing breakout above that level, followed by a successful retest, could bring $4,150 and $4,200 into focus.

On the downside, a loss of $4,000 would weaken the immediate bullish structure. The $3,960 area would be the next level to monitor, followed by $3,900 if selling pressure accelerates.

My three scenarios are straightforward.

Bullish scenario: Gold maintains support above $4,000, forms a higher low and breaks $4,100 with strong buying participation. This would improve the chances of an extension toward $4,150–$4,200.

Bearish scenario: XAUUSD loses $4,000 and struggles to recover it. Continued dollar strength and rising yields could push gold toward $3,960 and potentially $3,900.

Consolidation scenario: Gold trades between $4,000 and $4,100 while the market waits for fresh economic data and clearer signals about interest rates.

I am also watching upcoming US employment figures because they could influence expectations for the Federal Reserve's next decision. Strong economic data could create another obstacle for gold, while weaker numbers and declining yields could provide additional support.

My current outlook is cautiously bullish. The recovery above $4,000 is encouraging, but I want to see buyers defend that level before treating the move as a sustainable reversal.

I would avoid chasing gold after such a sharp daily rally. Waiting for a pullback, confirmation and a clear invalidation level is a more disciplined approach, particularly in leveraged trading.

Gold has regained an important psychological level, but the next challenge is proving that buyers can hold their ground.

For now, $4,000 is my main decision zone, while $4,100 is the resistance bulls need to overcome.

The key now is how the Federal Reserve interprets the employment data.
