Gate Brings Taiwan's Technology Giants Into Its Stock Trading Ecosystem

The AI industry is creating opportunities far beyond the companies developing artificial intelligence software. Behind every powerful AI model is a much larger industrial network responsible for designing semiconductors, manufacturing advanced chips, building servers, and supplying the hardware that makes large-scale computing possible. Taiwan sits at the center of this ecosystem, which makes Gate's latest expansion particularly interesting.

Gate has officially introduced Taiwan stock trading, with its first batch covering 19 companies listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE). The selection includes TSMC, MediaTek, Hon Hai (Foxconn), and Quanta Computer. These are not simply four technology names added to a trading platform. Each represents a different part of the infrastructure supporting the global technology and AI economy.

TSMC is arguably the most significant name in this initial selection. Its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities make it a critical supplier to the advanced computing industry. As demand for AI processors increases, the ability to manufacture sophisticated chips becomes increasingly important. However, semiconductor manufacturing also requires enormous investment, advanced production capabilities, and the ability to keep pace with rapidly changing technology.

MediaTek represents another important segment: chip design. Its business covers areas such as mobile processors and connectivity technologies. Its position highlights how the semiconductor industry extends beyond manufacturing and includes the development of increasingly capable chips for different computing applications.

Hon Hai, widely known as Foxconn, brings the manufacturing perspective. Its involvement in electronics production and AI server infrastructure connects it to the physical systems required to support expanding computing demand. Quanta Computer is another important name in this area, with exposure to server manufacturing and computing hardware.

Looking at these companies together provides a broader picture of the AI industry. Software development may attract the headlines, but the infrastructure behind it requires semiconductor designers, chip manufacturers, electronics producers, and server suppliers. Taiwan's technology ecosystem has a significant role across these different stages.

The other important part of this announcement is how Gate is making these stocks accessible through its platform. Users can trade the supported Taiwan stocks through a Gate stock account using USDT, without manually converting their funds into New Taiwan dollars. The platform also supports TWD price quotations, holdings, and profit-and-loss displays.

Trading is scheduled from 09:00 to 13:25 Beijing time, without a midday break.

For existing Gate users, this creates an additional investment category within the platform rather than limiting their activity to digital assets. It also makes it easier to monitor different market segments through a single financial ecosystem. Nevertheless, investors should understand that stock trading involves its own risks, including company-specific performance, market valuations, currency-related considerations, and changes in the global economic environment.

I believe the bigger story here is the growing connection between digital finance and traditional equity markets. AI is not a single-sector investment theme. Its development depends on an entire chain of businesses, and Taiwan is an important part of that chain. By introducing these 19 stocks, Gate is opening another route for users interested in following the companies building the infrastructure of tomorrow's technology.

The most interesting aspect is that investors can now look beyond the companies creating AI applications and pay closer attention to the businesses providing the computing power behind them.

My watchlist would start with TSMC for semiconductor manufacturing, MediaTek for chip design, and Hon Hai and Quanta for the hardware and server infrastructure side of the AI industry. Each has a different business model, so comparing their growth prospects rather than treating them as identical AI investments is essential.

Taiwan stock trading is now another addition to Gate's expanding investment ecosystem. The real opportunity will depend on understanding the businesses behind the tickers, not simply following the excitement surrounding AI.

Gate’s move here is pretty slick, directly connecting Taiwan stocks with the crypto ecosystem. No need to switch apps to check TSMC anymore

It’s denominated in TWD but settled in USDT, so you’ll need to keep a close eye on exchange rate fluctuations

The integration of digital finance and traditional stock markets is a major trend, and Gate made this move early

Put simply, it lets you use stablecoins to buy traditional assets; where the compliance boundary lies remains to be seen

The upstream segment of the AI industry chain offers more certainty than the application layer. I agree with this stock-picking logic

Who else is among the 19 besides these four giants? It’s a bit of a shame the article didn’t elaborate

TSMC’s capex cycle and progress on advanced nodes are more worth tracking than the stock price itself

The trading hours are quite convenient for mainland users, so there’s no need to stay up late watching the markets anymore
