When the market pulls back, investors usually feel one of two ways: afraid of buying too early or afraid of buying too late. The result is that they dare not buy when prices rise or fall, and end up doing nothing but watching the market.
As results from the US midterm elections come in, the market is reassessing the direction of future policy. US stock futures are under pressure, Bitcoin volatility is rising, and short-term risk appetite is being affected.
So, should you buy in batches or wait for the outcome to become clear?
Both approaches have pros and cons. Buying in batches spreads out entry points and avoids betting everything at once; waiting for clarity can reduce some event risk, but may also mean missing a rapid rebound.
The key is whether the funds have a clearly defined purpose and whether you can tolerate further declines.
If you choose to build a position in batches, set aside cash and establish an investment limit in advance, without changing your plan in response to short-term declines.
If you choose to wait, watch for signs such as the market stabilizing, funds flowing back in, and policy expectations settling.
No strategy suits everyone. The most important thing in investing is not buying at the bottom, but avoiding letting one bad judgment affect your long-term life.
There’s nothing wrong with taking it slow. Staying in the market for the long term is what gives you a chance to catch the next rally.$Kioxia Holdings
