Apple's revenue reached $114.48 billion, beating expectations, yet its stock fell nearly 3%! What is Wall Street really afraid of?
Apple's report card is like a top student acing an exam, only to get doused with cold water by the market on the way out! Revenue in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 was $114.48 billion, up 12% year over year, and earnings per share were $2.10—both above expectations. Yet the stock fell nearly 3% at one point in after-hours trading. What happened?
The problem isn't that Apple earned too little today, but that making money in the future may not be so easy. Higher memory chip prices and increased AI R&D and services costs could all squeeze margins. Apple expects gross margin to fall to 45%–46% next quarter, and that's what investors are really worried about.
My view: Apple's biggest challenge is margins, followed by slowing growth. A good company needn't fear a temporary share-price drop; what matters is growth that lacks quality. Apple still has a powerful brand, strong cash flow, and a user ecosystem, so short-term market sentiment shouldn't be overinterpreted. What's truly worth watching is whether it can turn technology investment into its next round of profit growth! #AppleQ3EarningsFocus
