Key❗️ asset volatility and outlook#BTC打破历届中期选举前看跌走势

1️⃣: ✅Crude oil is seeing sharp swings:
1. Shifting macro expectations are prompting funds to reassess demand, while the dollar and Treasuries are jointly weighing on commodities

2. If expectations of geopolitical tensions easing retreat, funds behind the previously priced-in premium will exit

3. If concentrated long-position profit-taking and liquidation cascades occur intraday, the decline will deepen further; it is not necessarily entirely due to a sudden change in fundamentals

4. Unexpected supply or inventory news could also fuel selling pressure

Key things to watch next: OPEC statements, crude oil inventory data, the US Dollar Index and Treasuries, any new geopolitical developments, and whether funds keep selling or this is a one-off liquidation cascade

Crude oil weakness can also feed through to inflation expectations, potentially affecting gold and broader market sentiment. Don’t watch crude oil in isolation; watch the markets together
(Currently trading in a wide 115-105 range)

2️⃣✅: ✅Gold

In the short term, it is caught in a tug-of-war, weighed down by the dollar and Treasury yields but supported by geopolitics. Bulls and bears are pulling in opposite directions, and there is not yet a clear, sustained major move. Focus on interest rate expectations; any shift could quickly trigger a breakdown. In the medium to long term, central bank gold buying still provides a floor, so don’t simply stay unconditionally bearish (currently ranging between 3900-3970)

3️⃣✅Ethereum

It is a high-beta asset that follows broader market and BTC sentiment. Also watch ETH ETF flows, on-chain staking, and news. It has a chance to gain momentum only if macro liquidity is strong; if the dollar and Treasuries continue to surge, it could also come under pressure. It is more volatile than gold and carries greater leverage risk (so far, fluctuating between 2300-2230)

4️⃣✅Correlation between the two

Macro liquidity is a common factor, but the assets have different characteristics: gold is more of a safe-haven, inflation-hedge play, while ETH is a growth-oriented risk asset. They sometimes move together and sometimes diverge, so they should not be traded as if they were the same asset

✅Key things to watch

Gold: Treasury yields, the dollar, geopolitics, officials’ remarks
Ethereum: BTC direction, ETF inflows and outflows, broader market risk sentiment, news catalysts

Gold's 3900-3970 range is too narrow; waiting for the Fed to signal a breakout

Those two long trades in XAU yesterday were pretty sweet, but today's choppy action will be hard to replicate

If the geopolitical premium really fades, crude oil could see another wave of panic selling. Keep a close eye on OPEC’s rhetoric

This bout of wide swings in crude oil is really wearing; it keeps chopping back and forth in the 115-105 range, making positions hard to hold

Weakness in crude oil is easing inflation expectations, which could actually be a potential tailwind for risk assets; the transmission mechanism needs to be clarified

The support from central bank gold buying remains effective over the medium to long term, but is being heavily weighed down by U.S. Treasury yields in the short term

ETH following BTC is the norm, but ETF flows are starting to lose momentum, and its responsiveness is declining
