—Don’t dwell on past prices; judge the value of a trade right now.
The market suddenly reversing right after your stop-loss gets triggered is a classic trading moment!
You’ve just accepted the loss and exited, and the market suddenly seems to remember you, turning around and climbing all the way up.
Should you chase it now?
My view: You can re-enter, but never lower your entry standards just because you were stopped out moments ago.
I focus on three signals:
First, has the trend been reconfirmed?
Don’t assume the trend has reversed just because of one big bullish candle. Consider key levels and market structure.
Second, have your entry conditions been met again?
The previous trade is over. A new trade needs a new rationale, a new stop-loss level, and a clear risk-reward ratio.
Third, has your mindset returned to normal?
If the only thing on your mind is, “I have to win back the money I just lost this time,” it’s best to pause first.
One more thing is very important: re-entering doesn’t mean you have to increase your position size. Even if the opportunity looks good, stick to your original risk limit.
The most interesting thing about trading is that the market never cares how much you just lost, and it won’t compensate you for missing a move. #WCTCS9
So there’s no need to fight the past.
If you missed it, you missed it. Understanding the next opportunity matters more than chasing the last move.
Remember: A true trading pro doesn’t catch every market move; they know why they’re making every trade!$BTC
