$DDOG That hit just wiped another 23,000 from the gains my account had just clawed back.

I’m not crying about my losses—it’s just that this -14% red candle looks all too familiar. The 24h high was 241.39, the low was 205.83, and the current price is 206.78, closing almost at the floor. Trading volume was only 0.5M—liquidity is paper-thin, and even a moderately large order can punch straight through the price. This kind of drop isn’t a fundamentals collapse; someone is getting out at any cost, and people who sell like this usually don’t get far.
I checked the historical data: DDOG has had a single-day drop of more than 12% four times over the past two years. In three of those cases, it rebounded by at least 6% within five trading days. The only time it didn’t rebound was when the broader market was undergoing a systemic sell-off. The question now is: do you have a position to add to, and how much?
My plan is clear: I won’t short at the current price of 206.78, and I’m not rushing to buy the dip. I’m waiting for two signals—the first is a high-volume hourly candle with a long lower wick that closes back above 210. That’s the first entry point, with 20% of my position. Second, if it keeps falling toward the 200 level and moves sideways on lower volume, that’s the second entry point; I’ll add another 20%. Total exposure won’t exceed 40%, and I’ll keep the rest in reserve in case it drops to 190.
Stop-loss discipline: if it falls below 198 after entry, I’m out unconditionally—no holding on. I’ll take profit in two stages: the first target is 222, the second is 235. I’ll trim half at each target and move the stop-loss on the remainder above my entry price.
My only rule for choosing coins: stick to assets with enough liquidity. Don’t take a heavy position in one with 0.5M in trading volume; slippage can wipe you out. DDOG’s fundamentals haven’t deteriorated, but during a sentiment-driven sell-off, forget valuation and stick to discipline.
The one thing that helped me climb out of a huge loss this time was: losing money isn’t shameful; stubbornly holding on is. Follow me—I’ll post as soon as DDOG shows signs of stabilizing. Do you have DDOG right now—did you sell or are you holding? #每周来晒

After last year's 12% drop, it fell another 15%; history does not simply repeat itself

0.5M in trading volume is indeed too thin; even a slightly larger amount of capital moving in or out creates a wick

The stop-loss at 198 is set a bit too tight. What if there's a wick

The second target of 235 seems a bit optimistic; let's first see if it can break above 222

You really shouldn’t go heavy on illiquid coins—slippage will teach you a lesson
