$HUMA A day of brutal shakeout, and sentiment has frozen at 0.0221. The Fear & Greed Index is now at 18, deep-freeze territory. The funding rate is -0.037%, meaning shorts are paying to hold their positions. This reading ranks among the top three extremes of the past three months. 24h trading volume is 29.2M; turnover has surged, but the price plunged from 0.0280 to 0.0216—a classic panic sell-off.

Someone in the group asked this morning if it was going to zero. I said to look at the data first. Historically, when negative funding coincides with deep-frozen sentiment, a short-term turning point is often not far off—shorts are so crowded they have to pay to maintain their positions, and once the price stops falling, a short squeeze could trigger a sharp rebound. The current price of 0.0221 is just above the 24h low of 0.0216, which is the key level to watch today.
My approach: don’t chase shorts at the current price; shorting in a negative funding environment offers poor risk-reward. With a small position, you could try going long in the 0.0216–0.0221 range, keeping the position below 10% and placing a stop-loss below 0.0208. If it breaks, accept the loss. The first take-profit target is 0.0245, and the second is 0.0260; trim half the position at the first target. If the price breaks below 0.0216 on rising volume and the funding rate turns positive, that means the panic isn’t over, so stay flat and don’t try to catch a falling knife.
I usually make a note of extreme sentiment points like this. $HUMA Today’s combination of negative funding and deep-frozen sentiment is worth adding to the watchlist and tracking for two days. If you want to see how I manage this trade, follow me. I’ll post an update on the platform as soon as the turning point is confirmed.

Negative funding rate + deep freeze—this combo is indeed rare. Waiting to see what happens next

With turnover surging to 29M, most panic selling is probably done, right

Not chasing shorts is right; shorting at a negative funding rate is giving money away

The stop-loss at 0.0208 is set a bit far; I might tighten it

0.0245 is the first target; sell half when it gets there to play it safe

Deep-freeze zone reading: 18. Has the contrarian indicator kicked in?
