US and Israel Reportedly Preparing for Joint Strikes on Iran — Could Gold and Oil Be Heading for Major Moves?

Global financial markets are once again facing a major geopolitical uncertainty as tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran continue to attract international attention. Reports from Israeli media suggest that Washington and Tel Aviv are preparing for the possibility of renewed joint military operations against Iran. Although no final decision to launch an attack has been officially confirmed, the growing military concerns are already raising questions about the next direction of global markets.

In my view, this is a situation that investors should watch carefully because its potential impact extends far beyond the Middle East. Gold, crude oil, the US dollar, stock markets, and even Bitcoin could experience significant volatility depending on how events develop.

1. Why Are Middle East Tensions Increasing Again?

The main concerns involve Iran's nuclear programme, missile capabilities, regional influence, and the security interests of Israel and the United States.

Military preparations do not necessarily mean that an attack is inevitable. Diplomatic negotiations remain an important possibility. However, when military planning and political uncertainty develop simultaneously, financial markets usually become more sensitive to breaking news.

The biggest question is whether both sides can find a diplomatic solution or whether the situation moves toward another direct confrontation.

2. Gold Could Attract Strong Safe-Haven Demand

Gold is one of the first assets I would monitor during a major geopolitical escalation.

When uncertainty increases, investors often look for assets that can help protect their portfolios against unexpected risks. Gold traditionally benefits from this behaviour, particularly when concerns about international security become more serious.

However, geopolitical uncertainty is not the only factor controlling gold prices. The US dollar, Treasury yields, inflation expectations, and central bank demand also play important roles.

If tensions escalate and safe-haven buying increases, gold could attempt another significant upward move. But if diplomatic progress reduces uncertainty, some investors may take profits.

3. Oil Could Face Even Greater Supply Concerns

Crude oil is potentially one of the most sensitive markets in this situation.

The Strait of Hormuz is particularly important because a substantial share of global petroleum shipments passes through this strategic waterway.

Any disruption to shipping, energy infrastructure, or regional oil production could create serious concerns about global supply.

If military confrontation expands, oil prices could experience sharp upward volatility as traders price in potential supply risks.

On the other hand, if diplomatic negotiations succeed and shipping remains uninterrupted, oil could lose some of its geopolitical risk premium.

4. What About Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency?

Crypto investors should not ignore these developments.

During periods of geopolitical uncertainty, investors sometimes reduce exposure to high-risk assets. This could create temporary selling pressure across Bitcoin and the wider cryptocurrency market.

However, Bitcoin does not always react negatively to geopolitical tensions. Liquidity, institutional demand, dollar strength, and overall market sentiment can change its direction.

I would therefore avoid assuming that Bitcoin must fall simply because international tensions increase.

5. Three Scenarios I Am Watching

- Military escalation: Gold and oil could receive additional buying pressure, while global risk assets may experience volatility.
- Diplomatic progress: Gold and oil could give back part of their geopolitical premiums as market uncertainty declines.
- Prolonged uncertainty: Investors may continue rotating between defensive assets and riskier markets, creating unpredictable price movements.

My Personal Market Outlook

I believe the next developments between Washington, Tel Aviv, and Tehran could become an important catalyst for global financial markets.

My focus is not simply on headlines or predictions. I want to see confirmation through actual market behaviour, trading volume, price structure, and changes in investor positioning.

For gold, I am watching whether safe-haven demand produces sustained buying. For oil, the key issue is whether geopolitical developments create real supply disruptions. For Bitcoin, I am monitoring support levels, liquidity, and overall risk appetite.

I would rather wait for confirmation than chase a sudden price movement driven by breaking news. In uncertain markets, capital preservation and disciplined risk management matter more than trying to predict every move.

What is your opinion? If the United States and Israel launch another military operation against Iran, which market will experience the biggest reaction: GOLD, OIL, or BITCOIN?
