In crypto, many people share a dream: buy SOL, then watch it climb all the way up—ideally, wake up after a nap to find their account has doubled.
It’s certainly a dream worth having, but reality is often different: the rally never comes, while the dark circles from staring at charts show up first. 😂
Recently, the total amount of SOL staked on Gate reached 663,600 tokens, with a reference annualized yield of 7.29%. This has brought an investment question back into focus: besides waiting for the price to rise, are there other ways to put SOL holdings to use?
I think the answer is worth looking into seriously.
If you already plan to hold SOL for the long term, staking can be one approach to asset management. By participating in staking, holders may earn additional returns; GTSOL, under its product rules, also offers use cases such as trading, collateralization, and redemption, giving asset management more flexibility.
But there’s an important caveat: don’t overlook the risks in pursuit of yield.
If SOL’s price falls 20%, even some staking rewards may not make up for the overall loss. Not to mention redemption periods, insufficient liquidity, and risks in the product’s mechanisms.
So I favor a rational strategy: first decide your holding period, then assess your risk tolerance, and finally decide whether to stake.
A higher yield isn’t always better; only an approach that suits you is worthwhile.
The market has a new story every day, but what truly lasts over the long term is discipline, understanding, and patience.
If holding SOL for the long term is your plan, would you stake to improve capital efficiency or keep your spot holdings and wait for an opportunity? #GateSOLStakingHitsRecordHighWith7.29%ReferenceAnnualizedYield
