What makes STRC's return toward $100 significant is not simply its share price, but the financial mechanism Strategy is building around it. On October 28, preliminary voting results showed 99.3% support for an amendment allowing daily dividend accrual across Strategy's preferred securities, marking an important development in its digital credit strategy.
Why does $100 matter?
STRC, Strategy's Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, has a stated amount of $100 per share. Its structure is specifically designed to encourage trading close to this level through adjustable dividend rates and other capital-management measures.
Strategy's official dashboard reported a closing price of $99.13 on October 30, 2026, placing the shares approximately 0.87% below their stated amount. The displayed annual dividend rate was 12%.

What is changing?
The move toward daily dividend accrual is an important structural development. Under the announced amendment, STRC's first daily dividend record date is November 1, with payment scheduled for November 2, subject to the amended terms taking effect.
Importantly, more frequent dividend accrual does not mean a higher annual return. The current 12% rate remains subject to adjustment, and cash distributions depend on the applicable declaration and terms.

How could STRC reach and maintain par?
There are several supporting mechanisms. Strategy has established a policy of repurchasing STRC below $100, with purchases generally expected to be larger at deeper discounts and smaller as the price approaches par.
In July, the company disclosed a $25 million repurchase of 288,930 shares at an average price of $86.52. It also stated that approximately $975 million remained available under its repurchase authorization at that time.
Strategy
However, repurchases alone cannot guarantee a stable market price. Independent investor demand, liquidity, dividend expectations, interest rates and confidence in Strategy's financial position remain important.
What could happen next?
A bullish scenario would involve sustained trading near $100, healthy market liquidity, continued investor demand and successful implementation of the dividend structure. Reaching and holding par could also support Strategy's ability to issue new STRC shares under its stated issuance policy.
A bearish scenario could emerge if Bitcoin experiences a substantial decline, investor demand weakens, or concerns about dividend sustainability increase. In that situation, STRC could trade below its stated amount despite the company's repurchase intentions.
What should investors understand?
STRC is not a conventional savings product or a guaranteed 12% investment. It is a perpetual preferred security that ranks below Strategy's debt obligations and certain other preferred securities. Its dividend rate can change, and its market price can fluctuate.
The distinction between approaching $100 and being guaranteed $100 is crucial.
The bigger picture
STRC's progress toward par represents an important test of Strategy's ability to develop a sustainable digital credit market alongside its Bitcoin-focused capital strategy. If successful, the model could strengthen its financing flexibility. But the real achievement will be maintaining healthy demand without relying excessively on corporate repurchases.
Stay careful, examine the underlying financial structure, and always think independently before making an investment decision.@
