NFLX is trading near its 52-week lows around $62 after a prolonged downtrend, with the stock down ~34% YTD and ~43% over the past year (post 10-for-1 split in Nov 2025). It sits just above the recent low of ~$61.39–$61.40, showing slight stabilization on the hourly chart but remaining in a clear bearish structure with price below key moving averages. After-hours action is flat to slightly lower. Earnings were released on Oct 20, 2026; the stock sold off on softer ad guidance and engagement concerns despite a solid profit beat.
Fact.
Price: ~$62.09 (as of the chart; close ~$62.08 on Oct 30).
Market cap: ~$255B.
P/E (TTM): ~17.9; Forward P/E ~16–17.
52-week range: $61.39 – $116.73.
Day range (recent): $61.64 – $63.05.
Next earnings: estimated around Jan 19–22, 2027.
Recent low marked on chart: $61.40.
Fundamentals.
Q3 2026 revenue was $12.87B (+11.8% YoY, in line with guidance), operating margin expanded to 34.6% (beat), and EPS was $0.87 (beat). Full-year 2026 guidance is ~$51.1B revenue (+13%) and 31.5% operating margin. Ad revenue outlook was cut to ~$2.7B from ~$3B due to slower product rollout. Membership/pricing drove growth; churn improved and retention stayed healthy across regions (India viewing hours +24%). Free cash flow remains strong; the company continues aggressive share buybacks. Growth has decelerated from prior quarters, and management acknowledged investor concerns on view-hours growth while committing to better U.S. content execution after recent layoffs (~1,000 jobs) and leadership changes.
Tokenomics.
Not applicable — this is a traditional equity (Netflix Inc. common stock), not a cryptocurrency or token. No circulating supply, token distribution, or on-chain metrics.
Macro view.
Broader market pressure (S&P 500 weakness noted around the recent session) and sector rotation away from growth/media names have weighed on NFLX. Streaming faces intense competition from YouTube, TikTok, Disney+, Amazon, and others, plus shifting viewer habits toward short-form content. Higher interest rates or risk-off sentiment amplify the impact of slower growth narratives. Netflix remains a high-quality, profitable cash-flow generator, but the market is currently pricing it more like a mature value stock than a high-growth story.
Micro view chart.
The 1h chart shows a clear downtrend from the mid-60s/high-60s area, with price testing the $61.40 low and currently consolidating near $62. Moving averages (MA5 ~62.04, MA10 ~62.12, MA30 ~62.27) are clustered tightly just above price — a potential short-term support/resistance zone. MACD (12,26,9) is negative (MACD 0.13, DIF –0.40, DEA –0.54) but the histogram shows some flattening/green bars recently, hinting at possible momentum stabilization rather than acceleration lower. Candles have mixed red/green with smaller bodies lately, suggesting reduced selling pressure near the lows. Overall structure remains bearish until a sustained reclaim of the short-term MAs and higher highs appear.
Summary.
Price near multi-month/52-week lows with oversold technical readings on daily (RSI ~30).
Fundamentals solid on profitability and cash flow; growth slowing and ad outlook trimmed.
Chart: downtrend intact, short-term consolidation possible near $61.40–$62.30.
Sentiment still cautious post-earnings on engagement and guidance.
Analyst consensus remains Buy with average target ~$85 (significant upside if growth stabilizes).
My trade plan according to current market situation.
Bias is neutral-to-cautiously bullish for a bounce given proximity to lows and oversold conditions, but the primary trend is still down.
Long bias setup: Wait for a clear hold above $61.40–$61.60 with a reclaim of the short MAs (~$62.20–$62.50) and improving MACD. Target initial resistance $63.50–$65, then $67–$70 if momentum builds. Stop below $61.00. Position size small given residual downside risk.
Short/fade setup: Any failed bounce into the MA cluster or $63–$64 without volume/MACD confirmation can be sold, targeting a retest of $61.40 then $60.
Prefer waiting for confirmation (higher low + MA reclaim or breakdown) rather than catching the falling knife. Swing horizon 1–4 weeks; scale out on strength.
My personal interpretation.
The stock looks washed out after the post-earnings drop and broader growth-stock weakness. Fundamentals (margins, FCF, buybacks) remain excellent, so the valuation at ~18x earnings is no longer demanding. The main overhang is decelerating top-line growth and questions around engagement/ad execution. Technically it is oversold and sitting on support, so a relief bounce is plausible, but a sustained recovery needs evidence that view-hours and content performance are stabilizing. Until then, it is a “show-me” story trading near the bottom of its range.
Why this setup matters.
Being near the 52-week low after a large decline creates asymmetric risk/reward for patient traders: limited additional downside if support holds versus meaningful upside if the market begins to look past the growth slowdown toward the still-strong profitability and cash generation.
The tight MA cluster and flattening MACD on the lower timeframe offer a clear tactical decision point for entries, stops, and targets.
