Zelensky says the world is failing to meet its climate goals, then turns around and asks for more weapons to keep the war going—even though war is one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions. I can’t wrap my head around the logic. Climate policy and military aid seem to exist in two parallel worlds for him. What do you think—is this a double standard, or are they just keeping separate scorecards? I’m honestly baffled.

Double standards aren’t quite the issue; keeping separate books is real—classic politician behavior

War-related carbon emissions are indeed outrageous, but can climate targets and a survival crisis be weighed on the same scale?

Talking about climate goals during wartime is like asking a hungry person to sign up for a gym membership first

So he means everyone else cuts emissions while I keep fighting wars? That’s some pretty strange accounting
