Intel turned a profit in Q3, but its stock plunged about 24% after hours: What is the market really afraid of? 😅
The answer isn't in the past; it's in the guidance. Q3 revenue was $16.5 billion, up 21% year over year, while data center and AI revenue rose 78%. But Q4 revenue guidance was only $15 billion–$16 billion, with gross margin guidance of 38%; revenue, EPS, and gross margin all came in below market expectations. Slowing PC demand, constrained server supply, and continued losses in the foundry business led investors to cut the valuation first.
The stock closed at $92, and #INTC was around $71 after hours, down about 50% from its high of $142. The daily chart was already weaker than the 20-day and 50-day moving averages, and annualized 20-day volatility was about 54% before earnings. Now it's also gapped down—don't assume that “a big drop” means “the bottom is in.”
Short-term support: 70|68|64
Mid-term support: 58|52|48
Short-term resistance: 74|80|85
Mid-term resistance: 92|99|105
My view: $70 is a key threshold where the previous high and current low converge. If it can't hold, the stock will need to find support lower down; a move back above $80 would mark the start of a recovery. In the long run, servers and advanced process nodes still offer opportunities, but first, wait for evidence from margins and supply. Would you wait for the decline to stabilize, or for a confirmed rebound? 👇 #英特尔 $INTC #英特尔财报超预期股价却暴跌
The problem isn't the past, but the fourth-quarter guidance: revenue, EPS, and gross margin all fell short of market expectations. Data center and AI revenue surged 78%, a bright spot, but slowing PC demand, supply constraints, and foundry losses mean investors can't focus on the story alone.
Now 70 is a key threshold. A steep drop doesn't mean the bottom is in. Would you wait for it to stabilize, or for it to climb back above 80? 👇
