Some people are still wondering whether AI is just a passing fad, but Microsoft has given a pretty compelling answer in its latest earnings report: Azure’s quarterly revenue was about $33.2 billion, up 48% year over year!
What does that mean? While others are still figuring out how to get AI to help write weekly reports, Microsoft is busy providing computing power, cloud services, and AI infrastructure to businesses around the world. You ask AI to save you time; Microsoft is working to turn that time saved into a reason for businesses to buy cloud services.
The business logic behind this boom isn’t complicated. The more complex AI models become and the more widely businesses use them, the greater their demand for computing resources may be. Cloud platforms are like power and water utilities for the digital world: they may not always be in the spotlight, but they’re indispensable when it matters.
Still, don’t assume Microsoft can just sit back and count its money from now on. Data center construction costs are astonishingly high, and chips, electricity, and equipment maintenance all cost money. Revenue growth looks impressive, but sustaining profits and cash flow over the long term matters just as much.
What ordinary people can learn most from this isn’t to envy how much others have made, but to understand where the demand and value lie.
There are new hot trends every day, but companies that can truly seize the opportunities need technology, execution, and long-term investment. AI can be smart; businesses still have to make money. After all, even the most advanced AI can’t automatically turn every bill into profit for the boss!#微软Azure增长 48%$Kioxia Holdings
