ARM jumped more than 6% in a single day, and AI chip stocks rallied across the board, finally giving tech bulls who had been quiet for a while some room to breathe. But don’t pop the champagne just yet. After all, the stock market is best at making you think you’ve figured it out, only to make you start over the next second.
This rally may reflect a recovery in risk appetite, or it may be a technical rebound after the steep declines. The AI story hasn’t suddenly disappeared; investors are just recalculating how much money this business can actually make.
If ARM, Nvidia and other semiconductor companies continue to strengthen, trading volume rises alongside them, and capital starts spreading from a handful of leaders to other parts of the supply chain, then this rally would look more like a genuine sector recovery.
But if stocks only rise for a day or two before selling pressure pushes them back down, it may just be short covering and short-term traders seizing the chance to jump in.
My view: One big bullish candle can ignite sentiment, but it can’t prove on its own that the bull market is back. The AI story is still unfolding; the key is whether real money keeps buying in. $ARM
