BTC falls below $80k. Is mysterious buying pressure on the way? Strive keeps stacking BTC—could it become Bitcoin’s “floor tile”?
Bitcoin has fallen below $80k, so market sentiment is understandably tense. Just as everyone was wondering whether to hide under the covers, Strive CEO Matt Cole signaled that the company might add to its holdings.
As of October 19, Strive held 36,818 BTC; on October 25, Matt Cole again hinted that the company might announce additional purchases.
The question is: Can continued institutional buying support Bitcoin?
In theory, if new purchases create genuine spot demand while selling pressure eases, they could provide some support for the price. Especially when the market lacks positive catalysts, a clear record of institutional buying can help improve investor sentiment.
But the market isn’t a supermarket: just because someone buys a lot doesn’t mean the product will definitely go up in price. If the macro environment turns bearish, leveraged positions are unwound en masse, or other holders keep selling, one company’s buying power may not be enough to withstand overall selling pressure.
So, to judge whether this round of accumulation is effective, watch three signals: actual increases in holdings, spot trading volume, and whether buyers continue to show up as the price falls.
My view is that Strive could become a source of support that the market pays attention to, but it shouldn’t be equated with a safety cushion below $80k.
A true bottom isn’t drawn by a CEO’s words; it emerges from the tug-of-war between buyers, sellers, and market confidence.
You can lay floor tiles, but don’t mistake them for a safe.
