Can BTC rebound if it holds $80k? Not so fast! I’m more interested in this battle of wills between bulls and bears
$80k feels like a psychological threshold for BTC; for traders, it’s more like an emotional stress test.
When the price rises to this level, bulls start dreaming of new highs; when it falls, bears immediately declare the return of the bear market. Both sides act as if they have inside information about the market. The only question is: why are they always so confident at the same time?
WCTC S9 kicks off today, and I think the most important thing at the start isn’t guessing whether BTC’s next candle will be green or red, but seeing which side—bulls or bears—is putting real money on the line.
First, support. If BTC retests a key area and quickly recovers its losses, while trading volume improves, that suggests there may be buyers stepping in at lower levels. But if the price tests support repeatedly and each rebound gets weaker, don’t mistake “it hasn’t broken down yet” for “it’s absolutely safe.”
Next, the breakout. Getting past resistance is only the first step. Whether the price can hold above it and whether spot buying follows through are key to judging the quality of the breakout. Otherwise, the price may only briefly cross the line before putting on another familiar “fakeout festival.”
We also need to watch the derivatives market. If funding rates get overheated and leverage piles up, a move in the opposite direction could trigger a cascade of liquidations. Getting the direction right doesn’t mean high leverage will make you money; enter too early, and you could still get shaken out first.
So I’m more inclined to approach this week’s market with scenarios in mind: if support holds and effective buying emerges, watch whether the rebound can continue; if a key level breaks and the bounce is weak, reassess the risk; if there’s no clear direction, cut down on pointless trades.
That’s not being timid. I just don’t want to turn my account into a laboratory to prove I can predict the market.
BTC can have its own direction, and traders should have their own discipline. #WCTCS9
If you could choose just one signal to judge whether the market is bullish or bearish, would you pick a support breakout, spot capital flows, or leverage and funding rates? Share your reasoning in the comments!
