【Silver Plunges! Bulls Get “Ravaged”—Did You Dodge This Free Fall?】

Fellow traders, take a look at this chart. I reckon plenty of people who went long on silver $XAG are feeling pretty gutted right now.

Let’s get straight to the numbers. The latest price is 54.69, down a whopping 4.8% on the day. This is no minor adjustment—it’s a full-on massive bearish candle! The 24-hour high was still at 57.52, while the low has already wicked down to 54.51. And look at the trading volume: 363 million USDT in 24 hours. What does that tell us? Bulls and bears are fighting it out fiercely at this level. This is a clear high-volume sell-off, with obvious signs of capital fleeing.

The candlestick chart makes it crystal clear: since hitting a high of 58.13, silver has been sliding down in “steps” as if it had taken a laxative. Every small bounce has been a perfect spot for bears to add to their positions. The price is now clinging to the intraday low of 54.51, with virtually no resistance. It’s a classic descending channel: bears are firmly in control, and bulls can only cling on for dear life.

How should we read the broader picture?
There’s an interesting detail: a news flash in the middle of the image says, “Shanghai crude oil futures rose 1.6% in overnight trading to RMB 713.20 per barrel.”
In theory, rising oil prices should give silver, the big brother of commodities, at least a bit of a sentiment boost. But in reality, silver doesn’t care and keeps falling. This suggests the sell-off in silver is driven more by internal capital battles (for example, overleveraged bulls being liquidated in a cascade), or by the strength of the US dollar and a shift in macro risk aversion. At this level, don’t blindly try to call the bottom.

What should you do next?
Here’s one piece of heartfelt advice: don’t rush to catch a falling knife!
With the big “Open” and “Close” buttons right below, plenty of people are itching to buy the dip. But look at these candlesticks—there’s not even a decent sign of the price stabilizing (such as a long lower wick or a bullish engulfing candle). Going long now is just asking to get wrecked; if you’re holding longs from higher levels and haven’t set a stop-loss, you may not escape liquidation this time.

If you’re short, congratulations—you’ve made money on this move. But remember to protect your profits, since after such a deep drop, a technical rebound could happen at any time.
If you’re on the sidelines, make some tea and crack a few sunflower seeds. Wait for it to build a solid base around the 54 level, or for a big bullish candle to engulf the previous one, before entering. There’s no rush.

The crypto market is a battlefield; staying in the game is what matters. What do you think of this sharp drop in silver? Come share your thoughts in the comments!
