Solana transactions exploded, but its price may not follow! 8.92 billion transactions—what's all the buzz about?

What’s the most interesting thing in crypto? It’s not someone calling for a rally or a crash, but the fact that the blockchain is busier than a shopping spree on Singles’ Day while investors may not be smiling.
In the third quarter of 2026, Solana recorded 8.92 billion non-vote transactions, up 104% from the fourth quarter of 2025. At a glance, these numbers are certainly impressive.
But here’s the question: Why can’t so many transactions directly imply that SOL is bound to rise?
Because there are several steps between blockchain transaction counts and token prices.
First, transactions don’t equal net capital inflows. A swap, a transfer, or even an automated strategy execution can all add to the transaction count, but that doesn’t mean new money is continuously flowing in to buy SOL.
Second, activity doesn’t equal profits. The network can be busy, but if fee revenue, app revenue, and user retention don’t improve in tandem, all that buzz may not translate into long-term value.
Third, markets trade on expectations. Even if the ecosystem is genuinely growing, if the good news has already been priced in, the price may not follow the script.
So, 8.92 billion transactions are more like a report card on network activity than a ticket guaranteeing a payout.
What’s truly worth watching is whether transaction growth can continue, and whether it can drive simultaneous growth in real users, app revenue, and ecosystem capital.
On-chain data can look great, but investment decisions shouldn’t rely on just one number.
If Solana transaction volume keeps hitting new highs, would you focus on the ecosystem’s fundamentals or keep watching SOL’s price?
