NVDA rises another 2.5%! The AI king isn’t clocking out yet?
If the AI rally is a marathon, Nvidia may not be the most relaxed runner, but it is definitely the one the market is least willing to ignore.
U.S. tech stocks rose overnight, with the Nasdaq up about 1.05%, NVDA up 2.5%, and AMD up 3.4%. AI chip stocks sprang back to life, showing that investors’ focus on computing demand has not faded.
But here’s the key question: AI being hot doesn’t mean all AI stocks can keep rising forever. The market cares not only about whether companies have advanced chips, but also whether cloud providers will continue increasing capital spending, whether customer purchases can keep growing, and how much return these hefty investments will ultimately generate.
Nvidia’s advantage lies in the competitive moat formed by its GPU products, software ecosystem, and developer network. But the more pronounced the advantage, the higher the market’s expectations tend to be. If earnings are even slightly less dazzling, the stock could play out the classic “good grades, but why didn’t you get a perfect score?” scenario.
So when I look at NVDA, I’ll focus on three signals: whether investment in AI infrastructure continues, how data center revenue and profits are performing, and whether management’s outlook for future demand remains strong.
A short-term rebound can boost sentiment, but it doesn’t directly prove that a new rally has begun. For investors, studying expectations is better than chasing hot trends, and tracking results is better than watching price gains.
After all, AI’s future may be huge, but the purchase price matters too.
Do you have more faith in NVDA’s long-term moat, or are you concerned that the market has already priced in growth from the next few years?
