Strive Reaches 36,818 BTC: Can $3 Billion in Bitcoin Holdings Strengthen the Market?

Strive’s Bitcoin treasury expansion is adding another important chapter to the institutional accumulation story. With reported holdings reaching 36,818 BTC and Bitcoin trading around $82,891, the company’s strategy raises a key question: can aggressive corporate buying create lasting upward pressure on BTC, or will financing costs and market resistance limit its impact?

My view is that Strive’s accumulation is a meaningful demand signal, but the real test is whether this demand translates into sustained price strength.

1. The Latest Purchases: $335 Million in Bitcoin

Between October 14 and 16, Strive reportedly purchased 1,223 BTC for approximately $100 million at an average price of $81,734 per coin. This followed another purchase of 2,822 BTC on October 12 and 13 for around $235 million.

Together, these transactions represent 4,045 BTC acquired for approximately $335 million, at a blended average cost of roughly $82,803, including fees and expenses.

These figures demonstrate the scale of Strive’s recent buying activity. More importantly, the company continued accumulating during a volatile market period rather than waiting for complete certainty about Bitcoin’s next move.

2. A Bitcoin Treasury Worth More Than $3 Billion

Strive’s reported holdings have reached 36,818 BTC, compared with 29,462 BTC before the recent transactions. That represents an increase of approximately 25%.

At $82,891 per BTC, the treasury’s estimated market value is approximately $3.05 billion.

Based on the figures provided, this places Strive ahead of MARA Holdings’ reported treasury of 35,577 BTC. However, rankings can change as public companies announce additional purchases, so continued disclosures will be important.

3. What Does $82,891 Mean for Strive’s Cost Basis?

At the updated Bitcoin price of $82,891, the latest 1,223 BTC purchased at an average of $81,734 would have an estimated unrealized gain of approximately $1.41 million.

The combined 4,045 BTC acquired at an average cost of $82,803 would be worth approximately $335.36 million, representing an estimated unrealized gain of around $361,000 before any additional valuation adjustments.

This is a substantial improvement compared with the position at $81,791. It also illustrates how quickly the paper performance of a large treasury can change when Bitcoin moves by just over $1,000.

However, Strive’s overall cost basis for all 36,818 BTC has not been disclosed in the supplied figures. Therefore, the performance of the recent purchases should not be confused with the profitability of the entire treasury.

4. Financing: The Opportunity and the Risk

Strive reportedly raised approximately $369 million through warrant exercises while issuing 13.7 million common shares. It also priced a $630 million SATS preferred-stock offering carrying a 15% annual dividend rate.

At that rate, the offering implies approximately $94.5 million in annual dividends, subject to the instrument’s terms.

This funding model can accelerate Bitcoin accumulation, but it also creates obligations. If BTC prices fall, capital markets weaken, or refinancing becomes more expensive, the company could face additional financial pressure.

Investors should also examine BTC per share, dilution, and financing costs rather than judging the strategy solely by the total number of coins held.

5. Is Strive Buying More Bitcoin Than Miners Produce?

Strive’s recent five-day purchasing pace was approximately 809 BTC per day. With Bitcoin’s block subsidy at 3.125 BTC and roughly 144 blocks produced daily, new issuance averages around 450 BTC per day.

That means Strive’s reported buying pace was approximately 1.8 times daily new issuance during the period.

This is an important demand comparison, but it does not mean the company controls the market. Existing holders can sell, other institutions can reduce exposure, and overall liquidity can change quickly. Corporate accumulation supports the demand narrative without guaranteeing higher prices.

6. Bitcoin Price Outlook: The Levels I Am Watching

With BTC around $82,891, the previously identified technical levels need to be interpreted in the context of the updated price.

- $82,538: Previous resistance, now below the reference price; a sustained hold above it could support the bullish case.
- $84,049–$84,250: The next resistance zone to watch.
- $81,000: An important nearby support reference.
- $80,443: The previously identified 50-day EMA level.
- $79,694: A lower downside reference if selling pressure returns.

A sustained move above $84,250 could strengthen the bullish structure. Conversely, a move back below $82,538 would warrant caution, while a break below $81,000 could put lower support levels back into focus.

These are reference levels from the earlier analysis, not newly verified live chart readings. Updated market data may change the technical picture.

7. What Could Move the Story Next?

I will be watching the reported settlement of the SATS offering, Strive’s next Bitcoin purchase disclosure, and whether newly raised capital is actually deployed into BTC. Purchases by Strategy, Metaplanet, and other public companies will also help show whether institutional accumulation is broadening.

The Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for October 27–28 is another potential catalyst for liquidity and broader risk sentiment.

My Final Take

Strive’s 36,818 BTC treasury demonstrates how corporate accumulation can become a meaningful part of Bitcoin’s market narrative. At $82,891, the latest purchases look stronger on paper, but the long-term outcome will depend on sustained demand, financing discipline, and broader market conditions.

My approach is to treat corporate buying as a potential tailwind, not a guarantee of a rally. I would watch whether BTC holds above previous resistance and moves convincingly through $84,049–$84,250 before becoming more confident in the bullish outlook.

What do you think? Can corporate Bitcoin treasuries continue absorbing supply and supporting higher prices, or will financing risks and market volatility eventually slow their accumulation? Share your analysis and the BTC level you are watching most closely.
