Nearly $1 Billion in BTC ETF Outflows Over Two Weeks! What Happened to the Promised Uptober Rally? Why Are Institutions Leaving First?
Bottom line: I think BTC is currently in a choppy phase of a transition from bear to bull, but for it to keep rising, we’ll have to see when money flows back in.
Why do I say that?
First, U.S. spot BTC ETFs have seen net outflows for two consecutive weeks, which shows that buying interest from short-term capital is indeed cooling. But that doesn’t mean institutions are collectively bearish, and this data alone is no reason to conclude that the bull market is over.
Second, rising U.S. inflation is also putting market expectations for Fed rate cuts to the test. Simply put, investors don’t think holding risk assets is as worthwhile, so BTC naturally has a harder time rising.
So what should we watch in the price now?
BTC is currently around $82,200. Whether it can hold above $83,000 and break through $84,500 are signals worth watching next.
If the rebound is weak and the price falls below around $80,000, we should be alert to a further pullback.
So I don’t think we should be blindly bearish right now, but there’s no need to rush into buying the dip either.
What’s really worth looking forward to isn’t the name “Uptober,” but money flowing back in and prices genuinely strengthening.
Do you think BTC is building up strength this time, or will it keep trading sideways?
