🦈 $16.8 billion in one quarter: AI’s “proof-of-revenue test” has been submitted
According to reports by @FT and @Reuters, @AnthropicAI disclosed at a pre-IPO investor meeting in San Francisco: Q3 revenue was $16.8 billion, up approximately 45% quarter-on-quarter; the FT said the company stated that it had achieved profitability for the quarter.
Reuters, citing investors who attended the meeting: Q1 revenue was $4.7 billion and Q2 revenue was $11.6 billion, bringing the total for the first three quarters to approximately $33.1 billion, with quarterly revenue already about 3.6 times that of Q1.
Reuters said its target valuation exceeds $2 trillion, and the listing may take place after the U.S. midterm elections in November, ahead of OpenAI. The data has not yet been officially released; the prospectus will prevail.
On the same day, AI infrastructure stocks came under pressure amid bets on higher interest rates. The next question: Can growth outrun sky-high computing investment?
