Samsung and SK hynix are both falling—does the AI chip story still hold up?
South Korean stocks suddenly weakened, with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix leading the decline, leaving many investors bullish on the AI supply chain conflicted: they thought prices were too high before, but now that they have fallen, should they enter the market?
I believe the key is not how large the decline is, but whether the companies’ growth logic has changed. AI computing infrastructure continues to advance, and demand for high-bandwidth memory deserves attention. However, the semiconductor industry itself is cyclical, and orders, product prices, inventories, and capital expenditures all affect profits. Even if long-term demand remains solid, stock prices may still continue to adjust if the market had already priced in overly high expectations.
Therefore, I would not assume this is a golden opportunity simply because of the sharp drop. Instead, I would monitor earnings forecasts, changes in industry demand, and the overall trend of the South Korean stock market. If fundamentals remain stable and the stock price gradually stabilizes, phased buying could be considered; if earnings expectations continue to be revised downward, staying on the sidelines would be more rational.
My choice is to wait cautiously rather than try to buy at the absolute bottom. Investing is not about who acts fastest, but about who can control risk and maintain discipline. After all, a 20% drop in a stock price does not mean it cannot fall another 10%; being bullish on AI does not mean any price is worth paying. #每周来晒 and #韩股大跌你会抄底吗
Do you think this adjustment in South Korean stocks is a short-term shakeout, or is semiconductor valuation being repriced? Would you choose to buy the dip or stay on the sidelines?
