#WCTCS9 #本周市场关注 My market map for this week: BTC awaits CPI, U.S. stocks watch banks, and crude oil is the “hidden thread”

This week (10/12-10/18) is a “super macro week”: September CPI on Wednesday (10/14) is the decider, six major banks lead off earnings on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Fed Chair Waller is also due to speak. My watchlist ranking: BTC (waiting for CPI to set direction) > U.S. stocks (watching banks during earnings season) > crude oil (the hidden inflation thread) > gold (safe-haven confirmation).
📈 BTC: Around $83.4K now, but direction depends on CPI—my answer is “no breakouts and no guessing pullbacks before the data lands”
BTC has bounced from $81K to $83.4K, which is a short-term “oversold recovery,” not a “trend reversal.” The $82K lifeline and $80K last line of defense remain unchanged. My approach: stay lightly positioned before CPI, then take sides after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday—cooling data → look toward $85-87K; sticky data → defend $80K.
🏦 U.S. stocks: During earnings season, I’m most interested in “what the banks have to say”
JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo report on Tuesday, followed by Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and BlackRock on Wednesday—all six major banks report over two days. Profit figures are old news; guidance is new—I’m watching three things: ① investment banking (has M&A/IPO activity recovered?); ② net interest income (5.7% on U.S. Treasuries is a “double-edged sword” for banks—the spread has widened, but deposit costs are also rising); ③ management commentary on consumer credit (are Americans’ wallets still full?). Bank earnings are the economy’s “thermometer,” offering a closer view of the real economy than CPI.
🛢️ Crude oil: the biggest “hidden thread” this week
Brent crude is fluctuating sharply in the $100-105 range and WTI in the $90-92 range (it also plunged intraday on 10/12)—the bulls and bears are betting on two things: an escalation in the Middle East (bullish) versus Russian diesel restrictions being lifted plus Trump pressuring oil prices (bearish). Oil prices feed directly into CPI—if crude holds below $100, inflation expectations will cool another notch, giving BTC and U.S. stocks a sigh of relief; another push above $105 would directly raise the risk of a CPI blowout. Watching Brent is essentially getting an early look at CPI.
🥇 Gold: the $4,200 historical high zone—“safe-haven demand” and “high interest rates” are fighting it out
Gold is near $4,200 (a historical high)—geopolitical safe-haven demand and central-bank buying are pushing it up, while 5.7% on U.S. Treasuries is weighing on it. Cooling CPI → safe-haven sentiment eases → gold could pull back; a CPI blowout → gold continues to make new highs. Gold is currently the “global anxiety index,” and its price action will tell us whether the market is truly afraid.

🎯This week’s trading plan
- Before 20:30 Wednesday: total exposure no more than half-invested—light BTC position, don’t chase U.S. stocks, stay away from gold
- Cooling CPI: add back to BTC, targeting $85-87K; if bank earnings are also strong, add financial ETFs to U.S. stock holdings
- Sticky CPI: cut BTC to below 20% and wait for $80K; continue holding gold; stay away from oil-related assets
