🔥 Pulled back from 103.28 to 84.51! CRCL forms a 1H wedge, the trader’s right-side long plan
Trade watch: $CRCL $COIN $HYPE
Over the past two days, CRCL (Circle, the USDC issuer) has become the focus of the U.S. stock crypto sector on GATE Square.
Reviewing this move, CRCL surged rapidly from $57.84 on August 3 to $103.28 on September 4, before entering an obvious pullback and consolidation phase.
As of the close on October 9, the price had fallen back to $84.51. During this adjustment, a very standard “potential descending wedge” has formed on the 1-hour (1H) candlestick chart.
Many people have asked me: after such a large drop, can we directly buy the dip at 84.51?
My answer is: never blindly catch a falling knife on the left side.
📊 I. Fundamentals: Properly Understanding the Fundamental Game Around Circle
Having a big-picture view is important when trading CRCL. Many people assume that as long as the scale of USDC grows, it will definitely generate massive profits.
But in reality, while an expansion in USDC’s circulation does create opportunities to increase reserve income, the amount of free cash flow ultimately generated will also depend on reserve yields, distribution costs, and the monetization capabilities of other businesses.
The financial report for the second quarter of 2026 has already proven that while reserve income grew, costs such as distribution expenses also increased, and reserve yields declined year over year.
Therefore: the fundamentals are worth monitoring over the long term, but that does not mean the current price carries no risk.
🎯 II. PA Breakdown: Why Can’t You Blindly Buy the Wedge’s Lower Trendline?
Faced with the current 1H wedge pattern, the most fatal mistake retail traders make is to rush to open heavily leveraged long positions on the left side when they see the price fall near the wedge’s lower trendline.
But in my trader’s system, the wedge’s lower trendline does not equal absolute support. The price can completely continue making new lows along the lower trendline, resulting in a sustained grind lower. I do not guess the bottom; I only focus on whether a 【right-side confirmation signal】 appears at the wedge’s bottom.
⚡ III. The Trader’s Plan: Right-Side Longs Wait for Only These Two Signals
Real trading means letting the market show its hand first. If I want to go long CRCL, I must see one of the following two situations occur:
📌 Signal One: False Breakdown of the Lower Trendline (Breakdown Reversal)
The 1H candlestick pierces downward through the wedge’s lower trendline (or the previous low), then quickly closes with a long lower shadow.
👉 Response: This proves that buying support has appeared below, but the false breakdown still requires confirmation. I will enter on the right side once the structure is confirmed by reclaiming the inside of the wedge, or when a pullback holds, with a stop-loss placed tightly below the wick’s low.
📌 Signal Two: Breakout of the Upper Trendline + Pullback Confirmation (Structure Shift)
The price surges upward on increased volume and decisively breaks through the 1H wedge’s upper trendline. It then makes a low-volume pullback that does not break below the previous low (Higher Low).
👉 Response: If the price breaks through the upper trendline and completes a confirmed pullback, I will first observe the potential prior resistance zone at $90–93, then assess the subsequent upside based on the price reaction.
⚠️ IV. Risk-Control Rule: Define Risk First, Then Seek Returns
What if the market grinds lower directly near 84.51 on no volume, or even breaks through the wedge with heavy volume and fails to reclaim it?
The answer is simple: abandon the long plan and continue waiting on the sidelines.
Trading is not about who buys at the lowest price, but who buys with the greatest safety.
Without a right-side confirmation signal, never press the buy button. Let the market provide the answer.
The U.S. stock market opens tonight. What is your plan for CRCL?
A. Wait for confirmation of a false breakdown, then follow with a right-side long position 🚀
B. Wait for a breakout of the upper trendline and a confirmed pullback before going long 📈
C. Never catch a falling knife on the left side; continue waiting on the sidelines ☕
D. If the price breaks below the wedge’s lower trendline, look for a deeper bottom 📉
