According to The Wall Street Journal, a shortage of AI computing power is reshaping the competitive landscape in Silicon Valley, forcing rival technology companies to collaborate to secure critical chip resources. Data firm SemiAnalysis said that the rental cost of NVIDIA GPUs rose 60% year over year under annual contracts. Anthropbic and SpaceX recently reached a major deal. Under the contract, Anthropbic will receive more than 300 megawatts of computing power, with the contract value potentially reaching as much as $45 billion over the next few years. Venture capital firms are also entering this market, pre-booking computing clusters and renting them to startups, or securing computing power through agreements, as AI companies compete fiercely for limited resources.
