#GTBurnsNearly2MTokensInQ3 $GT $BTC
Let me do something different today. Instead of opinions first, I'm going to hand you the receipt of this burn, line by line, and then check whether the chart agrees with the bill.
🧾 The burn receipt
Burned this quarter: 1,987,321 GT
Value at the time: $22.35M
Price implied by those two numbers: about $11.25 per GT
Burned in total so far: about 191.9M GT, which is 63.98% of the original 300M
Supply left: roughly 108M GT
This quarter's burn as a share of what's left: about 1.8%
Remaining supply at today's chart price (10.85): about $1.17B, so the burn was roughly 1.9% of that value
Subtotal: a steady, repeating sink of nearly 2% of the remaining supply, every quarter, on a schedule. That's the whole value of the burn. It's not a one-time event, it's a habit.
What's NOT on the receipt
The receipt doesn't include demand. Burn shrinks the supply, but price is supply meeting demand, and no receipt can guarantee the second half. Also, because the burn happens on a known quarterly rhythm, it's probably the most predictable piece of "good news" the token has. Predictable news is usually already priced in, and that's the honest answer to the question "is it priced in?" Mostly yes for the schedule, no for the demand.
Tab 1: the GT chart (4H)
Price is 10.85, almost exactly on my purple support at 10.81 (0.4% above it)
It just slipped under the 50 and 99 MA (11.03 and 10.97), so those now act as a ceiling
The 200 MA is much lower at 10.20, about 6% below price, and it's still rising
RSI is 37, MACD is slightly negative. Momentum is soft, not broken
Resistance is 11.33, and the range since late September has been roughly 10.4 to 11.5
GT is still up about 35% from its low near 8
Funny detail: the burn was done at roughly $11.25 per GT and the price is now about 3.5% below that, sitting on support. If you like symbolic levels, that's a neat one.
Tab 2: the BTC chart (4H), my filter
Price is about 82,770, 0.4% above support at 82,456
RSI is 28.9, which is oversold, and it's under both the 50 and 99 MA
The 200 MA at 81,601 is only 1.4% below
BTC is more stressed than GT. From their recent ceilings, BTC is down about 5.2% (87,277 to 82,772) while GT is down about 4.2% (11.33 to 10.85), so GT is holding up a little better. But GT usually follows BTC, so I treat BTC as the traffic light.
The macro layer (the admin's questions)
CPI is on Oct 14 and the Fed meets on Oct 28. A hot CPI could push October hike odds back up, and that would pressure BTC first and tokens like GT after. A calm CPI gives both supports a chance. Hike expectations are mostly priced in, a hot surprise isn't, which is why my size is smaller this week.
My plan on GT (my own view, not advice)
Plan A, starter at support:
Entry: 10.85 to 10.80
Stop loss: 4H close below 10.65
TP1: 11.00 (the MA cluster), then I move my stop to breakeven
TP2: 11.33, roughly 2.8R
TP3: 11.50, roughly 3.7R
Plan B, only if 10.65 breaks:
I don't average down. I wait for 10.45 to 10.35
Stop loss: 4H close below 10.15 (under the 200 MA)
TP1: 10.97, roughly 2.3R
TP2: 11.33, roughly 3.7R
Flip to bullish: a 4H close above 11.03 that holds on retest, then 11.33.
If 10.15 breaks: the idea is off. I step aside. I'm not shorting a token with this kind of supply story.
BTC filter: if BTC closes a 4H candle under 81,600, I shrink or skip GT entries, because that's when the whole market usually gets another leg down. If BTC holds 82,456 and bounces toward 84,600, GT's plan A gets much better odds.
Small size, low leverage, orders at levels, and liquidity on GT is thinner than on majors, so slippage is real.
My check-in: calm, light positions, spot GT untouched, cash set aside on purpose.
Receipt total: a reliable burn, a tired chart, and a market waiting for CPI. Patient, not passive.
Do you hold GT for the burn math or trade the range?
