#MarvellJumps4.5%

The AI hardware rally is getting bigger — and that is the part I’m watching.

Today’s move is not limited to one AI stock. Lumentum is up more than 5%, while Corning and Marvell are gaining over 4%. ARM and Coherent are also higher by more than 3%, with SK Hynix, Micron and Broadcom moving higher as well.

When so many different parts of the AI hardware ecosystem move together, it tells us something important: the market is increasingly looking beyond AI chips and pricing in the infrastructure required to run the next generation of AI.

AI data centers need much more than GPUs or CPUs.

They need high-bandwidth memory, optical components, networking, switching, advanced interconnects and enormous amounts of data movement. As AI clusters become larger, moving data between thousands of computing devices becomes just as important as the computing power itself.

That is where companies such as Marvell, Lumentum, Coherent, Broadcom and the memory manufacturers become interesting.

Marvell's latest results showed the strength of this demand clearly. Its data-center revenue reached $2.17 billion, up 46% year over year, while total revenue reached $2.74 billion, up 37%. The company is also developing technologies aimed at higher-speed optical connectivity for next-generation AI data centers.

So I don't see today's move simply as another “AI stocks are pumping” story.

The bigger story is that AI infrastructure is becoming its own investment theme.

The first phase of AI was dominated by the question: Who has the most powerful computing?

The next phase is increasingly about: Who can connect, power, cool, store and move all that computing efficiently?

That distinction could become extremely important as AI data-center spending continues to expand.

At the same time, a strong sector-wide rally does not automatically mean every company will deliver the same results. Valuations, future orders, margins and actual AI revenue growth still matter.

But today's breadth is worth paying attention to.

AI is no longer just a chip story. It is becoming an entire hardware infrastructure cycle — and the companies building the connections between the machines may become just as important as the machines themselves.
