DATA WEEK IS HERE: TODAY’S DROP, THIS WEEK’S KEY SIGNALS

U.S. equities opened the week under pressure, with technology and semiconductor names leading the weakness. The bigger question now is whether today's moves represent normal profit-taking or the beginning of a deeper repricing.

SNDK | CORRECTION OR TREND CHANGE?

SNDK dropped around 5.6%, with concerns surrounding a pause in OpenAI training activity reigniting questions about the pace of AI-related demand and weighing on the broader memory sector.

The long-term AI infrastructure narrative remains relevant, alongside the company's announced buyback program and index inclusion. However, short-term price action needs confirmation.

The key area to watch is $1,600–$1,650. A contraction in selling volume followed by stabilization could indicate that the correction is finding a base.

A sustained move below $1,500 would materially weaken the current structure and raise the possibility of a broader trend reversal.

For risk management, SNDK is better treated as a satellite position rather than an oversized allocation.

AMD | SECTOR PRESSURE, NOT YET A NEW THESIS

AMD also moved lower as semiconductor weakness spread across the sector.

The bigger issue remains valuation. After the previous rally, the market is still digesting an elevated earnings multiple.

The $580 area remains an important reference point in this setup. Holding above it would keep the pullback within a broader consolidation structure, while a decisive break would increase the risk of a deeper correction.

Today's relative performance against the semiconductor sector is worth watching closely.

NKE | REBOUND DOES NOT EQUAL RECOVERY

NKE bounced around 1.4% after its recent weakness, but a short-term rebound does not automatically change the broader fundamental picture.

The company continues to face pressure from weaker margins and declining performance in China. With earnings under pressure, a lower valuation multiple alone does not necessarily make the stock attractive.

The key distinction is simple:

A cheaper stock is not always an undervalued stock.

Until the fundamental trend improves, the rebound deserves caution rather than automatic optimism.

THIS WEEK’S DATA ROADMAP

Tuesday — JOLTS

Markets will focus on the health of the labor market. A stronger-than-expected reading could reinforce concerns about inflation and restrictive monetary policy, while weaker employment demand could support expectations for a less aggressive rate path.

Wednesday — Final Q2 GDP

The final GDP reading is unlikely to dominate sentiment unless it differs materially from expectations. More attention may turn to Micron's earnings after the close, particularly for clues about AI infrastructure and memory demand.

Thursday — ISM Manufacturing

The previous reading was 54.6. The market will be watching whether manufacturing momentum continues to accelerate or begins to cool.

THE MAIN EVENT: PCE + PAYROLLS

The week's most important macro signals come from inflation and employment data.

The earlier releases may shape expectations, but PCE inflation and Friday's payrolls report could have a much larger impact on expectations surrounding Federal Reserve policy.

For traders, the message is straightforward:

Do not confuse one-day price action with a confirmed trend.

SNDK's decline needs stabilization to prove it is only a correction. AMD needs to defend its key structure. NKE's rebound still faces fundamental questions.

And with major economic data ahead, managing exposure and defining invalidation levels may matter more than chasing today's volatility.
