$SNDK SANDisK — AI STORAGE DEMAND MEETS A MAJOR TECHNICAL TEST
SanDisk $SNDK has become one of the most closely watched memory and storage names in the U.S. market, with AI infrastructure creating a powerful demand story for NAND storage.
But after an extraordinary rally, the stock is now entering a much more important technical phase.
The market is no longer only watching whether AI demand exists.
The focus is shifting toward pricing, margins, data-center demand, long-term agreements, supply conditions and whether SanDisk can continue converting AI-driven storage demand into strong earnings.
CURRENT SNDK MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Current price: around $1,691
• Intraday high: around $1,757
• Intraday low: around $1,660
• Current session move: around -4.9%
• Intraday volume: around 3.95M shares at the latest update
• Market capitalization: around $265B • 52-week high: around $2,354
• 52-week low: around $103
The latest move is important because SNDK opened around $1,736 and moved toward $1,757 before falling toward $1,660.
That means sellers are currently testing the lower end of the day's range.
The stock is therefore sitting at a major decision area.
FUNDAMENTAL STORY
SanDisk's latest fiscal Q4 results showed revenue of approximately $8.97B, while non-GAAP EPS came in at $39.25.
Non-GAAP gross margin reached approximately 84.6%, showing how dramatically the company's profitability has improved during the current memory cycle.
For fiscal Q1 2027, management guided revenue toward approximately $10.3B–$10.8B and non-GAAP EPS toward approximately $44–$46.
That guidance makes the next phase of the story particularly important.
AI DATA-CENTER DEMAND
One of the strongest parts of the SNDK story is the growth of data-center demand.
Recent company commentary indicates that data-center revenue has become a much larger part of the business, while AI workloads are increasing the amount of storage infrastructure required by data centers.
This is important because AI does not only require powerful GPUs.
AI systems also require enormous amounts of high-performance storage and memory infrastructure.
That gives NAND and enterprise storage an increasingly important role in the AI buildout.
LONG-TERM DEMAND VISIBILITY
SanDisk has also secured multiple long-term business agreements that provide greater visibility into future NAND demand.
Management has indicated that these agreements are expected to represent more than half of fiscal 2027 bits shipped.
That can potentially reduce some of the uncertainty normally associated with the highly cyclical NAND market.
However, traders still need to monitor pricing.
If NAND prices remain strong while demand continues increasing, earnings momentum can remain supportive.
If pricing begins weakening sharply, the market may start questioning how sustainable the current margin expansion is.
SNDK PRICE ACTION
SNDK closed around $1,777.80 on September 25.
The stock has now moved down toward the $1,660 area during today's session.
That means the market is currently testing whether the recent recovery structure can hold.
The bigger picture remains extremely volatile.
SNDK has risen dramatically during 2026, but it is also still significantly below its approximately $2,354 52-week high.
That combination creates both opportunity and risk.
TRADING LEVELS
IMMEDIATE SUPPORT
$1,650–$1,670
This is the first area I would watch closely.
Today's intraday low is around $1,660, so buyers need to defend this region.
If SNDK stabilizes here and starts reclaiming $1,700, short-term momentum can improve.
SUPPORT 2
$1,600–$1,620
A deeper correction could bring the stock toward this psychological and technical area.
SUPPORT 3
$1,500–$1,540
This would become the next major downside zone if the $1,600 region fails.
STRONGER STRUCTURAL SUPPORT
$1,680–$1,700
This area is important for the immediate trend.
A recovery back above $1,700 after today's weakness would provide a better indication that buyers are returning.
RESISTANCE 1
$1,750–$1,760
This is the immediate recovery barrier and today's high area.
A clean reclaim with strong volume would improve the short-term setup.
RESISTANCE 2
$1,800–$1,820
This is the next major area.
SNDK recently traded around $1,815–$1,820, making this zone important for confirmation.
RESISTANCE 3
$1,900–$2,000
A sustained breakout above $1,820 could bring these psychological levels back into focus.
MAJOR RESISTANCE
$2,350–$2,355
This is close to the 52-week high around $2,354.
A confirmed breakout above this zone would represent a major technical development.
BULLISH TRADING PLAN
ENTRY ZONE 1
$1,650–$1,690
This is the aggressive pullback zone.
The setup becomes more attractive if price stabilizes instead of continuing to make lower lows.
ENTRY ZONE 2
$1,700–$1,720 after reclaim
For a confirmation-based approach, traders can watch for SNDK to reclaim $1,700–$1,720 with increasing volume.
BREAKOUT ENTRY
Above $1,760 with strong volume.
The important part is not simply crossing $1,760.
The breakout should hold above the level and preferably convert the previous resistance into support.
BULLISH TARGETS
TP1: $1,800–$1,820
TP2: $1,900–$2,000
TP3: $2,150–$2,200
TP4: $2,350–$2,355
These are technical zones rather than guaranteed targets.
RISK MANAGEMENT
For an aggressive pullback setup, the $1,600 area can be used as an important risk-control reference.
For a wider swing position, a break below approximately $1,500 would significantly weaken the current recovery structure.
The exact stop should depend on entry price and position size.
BEARISH SCENARIO
The bearish setup becomes stronger if SNDK loses $1,650 with heavy volume and fails to reclaim it.
Below $1,600, selling pressure could increase.
Below $1,500, the recent recovery structure would become substantially weaker.
Potential downside zones:
$1,650
$1,600
$1,540
$1,500
$1,400
The key point is that SNDK has already experienced an enormous rally, so profit-taking can become aggressive when technical support breaks.
VOLUME ANALYSIS
Volume is extremely important here.
A recovery from $1,660 toward $1,750 without strong volume would not provide enough confirmation.
A move above $1,760 accompanied by expanding volume would be much more meaningful.
On the downside, a high-volume break below $1,650 would indicate stronger distribution.
The best signal is therefore not price alone.
PRICE + VOLUME + SUPPORT/RESISTANCE must be considered together.
MU EARNINGS AS A SECTOR CATALYST
Another important event for SNDK is Micron's September 30 earnings report.
Micron and SanDisk are not identical businesses, but both are heavily exposed to the broader memory market.
Therefore, MU's commentary around memory pricing, AI demand, data-center demand and future industry conditions could influence sentiment across memory stocks.
A strong memory-sector message from MU could provide a sentiment catalyst for SNDK.
Weak industry commentary could increase volatility and profit-taking pressure.
This makes September 30 particularly important for SNDK traders.
BULLISH CONDITIONS
AI storage demand remains strong
Data-center demand continues expanding
NAND pricing remains firm
Long-term agreements support visibility
Margins remain elevated
SNDK holds $1,650–$1,700
Price reclaims $1,760
Volume expands on the breakout
$1,800–$1,820 converts into support
BEARISH CONDITIONS
NAND pricing weakens
Margin expectations decline
AI-storage demand slows
SNDK loses $1,650
$1,600 fails
Selling volume increases
$1,500 breaks
Recovery attempts repeatedly fail
THE BIGGER PICTURE
SNDK represents an interesting part of the AI infrastructure story because AI growth is creating demand not only for computing power but also for storage.
The company has reported exceptionally strong recent financial results, while long-term agreements and data-center demand provide additional visibility.
But the stock's enormous previous appreciation means expectations are also extremely high.
That changes the trading equation.
Strong fundamentals can support the long-term story while short-term price action can still experience sharp corrections.
This is why I would not chase a large green candle.
I would watch the levels.
$1,650–$1,690 is the first area for stabilization.
$1,700–$1,720 is the first recovery confirmation.
$1,760 is the immediate breakout level.
$1,800–$1,820 is the next major resistance.
$1,900–$2,000 becomes the next upside zone after a confirmed breakout.
$2,350–$2,355 remains the major historical resistance.
On the downside:
Below $1,650 increases risk.
Below $1,600 adds more bearish pressure.
Below $1,500 seriously damages the current recovery structure.
FINAL TRADING VIEW
SNDK remains one of the most interesting AI-storage names to watch, but the correct approach at these elevated price levels is disciplined trading rather than emotional chasing.
The fundamental story is centered around AI-driven storage demand, data-center expansion, NAND pricing, strong margins and long-term customer commitments.
The technical story is centered around $1,650–$1,700 support and $1,760–$1,820 resistance.
If buyers defend support and reclaim resistance with strong volume, the bullish structure can strengthen.
If support breaks with heavy selling, the market can enter a deeper profit-taking phase.
For me, the most important signal is simple:
LET PRICE CONFIRM THE FUNDAMENTALS.
Strong AI demand is the story.
NAND pricing is the fuel.
Earnings and guidance are the catalyst.
Volume is the confirmation.
Support and resistance are the trading map.
Risk management is what protects the trade.
