#GateBTCSpotVolumeRanksTop3

Gate has achieved another important milestone, and honestly, this is the kind of progress I like to watch over time.

Day by day, Gate keeps moving higher in the global trading landscape. Today it is another step forward — and I believe one day we will see Gate sitting at No.1 as well.

The latest Glassnode Week 38 report gives us some solid data behind that view.

According to Glassnode, Gate has climbed four places over the past two years to rank among the top three exchanges in BTC spot volume. Even more interesting is how much its share has changed during that period.

Gate’s share of the BTC spot volume covered by Glassnode increased from just 2.0% to 9.1%.

That is a 7.1 percentage-point increase, and Glassnode identifies it as the largest gain among the major exchanges in its comparison.

There is another number that caught my attention.

Gate has ranked inside the top three in 9 of the past 24 months.

For me, that matters more than simply seeing Gate appear at No.3 once. A single month can be driven by unusual volatility or temporary volume rotation. Repeated appearances over a two-year period suggest that Gate has been building a stronger position in the spot market.

And the broader market backdrop makes the latest result even more interesting.

Glassnode reports that Bitcoin spot volume has more than doubled from its August low, with the recent increase happening alongside rising BTC prices and broader participation across exchanges.

Gate has also shown strong spot-market growth in other independent exchange data. CoinDesk Research reported that Gate’s June spot volume increased 50.8% to $66.1 billion, while its spot market share rose to 5.95%, returning Gate to third place among centralized exchanges in that dataset.

And this growth is not limited to one part of Gate’s business.

Gate’s own August transparency report reported around $9.5 billion in 24-hour combined spot and derivatives volume, while its 30-day net inflow reached $308.1 million. The report also showed strong expansion in RWA and stock perpetual activity.

But I think the most important question now is not:

“Can Gate reach No.1?”

The better question is:

“Can Gate keep gaining market share when the market becomes quieter?”

That is where the real test will come.

Crypto volume can move very quickly between exchanges, especially during major rallies or sell-offs. So I would not treat one ranking as proof that the next step is guaranteed.

What I do see is a clear progression:

2.0% → 9.1% BTC spot share

+4 positions over two years

Top 3 in 9 of the last 24 months

That is a meaningful change in market presence.

Gate is no longer just trying to enter the conversation around the biggest exchanges. The data shows it has already moved much closer to the top tier.

Now the next challenge is consistency.

If Gate can continue increasing or maintaining its BTC spot share across different market conditions, then the conversation around the No.1 spot becomes much more interesting.

For now, I’m watching the trend rather than chasing a headline.

Gate is moving up. The question is how far this momentum can go.

And personally, I would not be surprised if one day we are looking at a Glassnode ranking where Gate is sitting at No.1.
