#GlassnodeSignalFlipsToAltcoinSeason

Something interesting is happening beneath the surface of the crypto market.

Glassnode’s Altcoin Cycle Signal has moved firmly into the altcoin-season zone, reaching 81.25/100, with 75 generally used as the threshold for an alt-led market. At the same time, altcoins’ total market capitalization has climbed to around $1.19–$1.20 trillion, a sharp recovery from the levels seen in August.

But I would not call this a confirmed, broad altseason just yet.

The reason is simple: market breadth still needs to improve. Glassnode’s latest data shows the rotation signal is elevated, but return breadth has fallen sharply, meaning a relatively small group of altcoins is responsible for a large part of the current strength. In other words, altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin, but the move is not yet evenly distributed across the market.

That distinction matters.

A real altseason is usually more than a few strong coins moving aggressively. You want to see participation expanding across large caps, mid caps and different sectors while Bitcoin remains stable enough to allow capital to rotate outward.

There is another interesting piece of the puzzle: Bitcoin dominance is still around 59%, and it has struggled to break decisively above 60%. Meanwhile, the broader crypto market has recovered toward $3 trillion. That combination suggests capital is starting to spread beyond BTC, but Bitcoin still controls a very large share of the market.

So my focus right now is not simply asking, “Is altseason here?”

I’m watching whether this rotation can broaden and sustain itself.

If more altcoins begin outperforming Bitcoin over the coming weeks, market breadth improves and Bitcoin dominance remains contained, the current Glassnode signal could develop into a much stronger rotation.

If participation stays concentrated in a handful of names, this could instead remain a selective altcoin rally rather than a full market-wide altseason.

For traders, that difference is important. A rising altcoin market cap creates opportunity, but it does not mean every altcoin will participate equally.

The signal has changed.

Now the market has to prove it.

Is this the beginning of a broader altseason, or another short-lived rotation into selected altcoins?
