Dogecoin’s Bet to Reach $1 by 2031: DOGE Has Gained Market Attention, but Purchasing Power Remains Insufficient
I came across a relatively interesting bet on Polymarket today: the market is making predictions about the possibility of Dogecoin reaching $1 by 2031. I have no interest in participating in such a long-term bet, but I believe Dogecoin may not need to wait that long to break through $1:
I. Dogecoin’s Current Market Data:
Dogecoin is currently priced at approximately $0.092; its average daily trading volume exceeds $2 billion; annualized spending volume through crypto-linked debit cards has reached $18 billion, up more than 15x since 2023; its 50-day moving average is $0.105, while its 200-day moving average is $0.145. Its current price is following Bitcoin and Ethereum’s movements. Ethereum has now clearly entered a bull market, so it is only a matter of time before Dogecoin follows with an upward move.
II. Dogecoin Fundamentals—Supported by Numerous Positive Catalysts
1. The U.S. SEC and CFTC have jointly classified Dogecoin as a digital commodity. This regulatory tailwind has yet to drive capital inflows or a price increase.
2. Dogecoin has connected to MoonPay’s network of more than 6,000 merchants and launched the DOGE Pay payment solution; House of Doge and Paxos plan to cooperate in June 2026 to expand Dogecoin’s global accessibility. The accompanying consumer-oriented platform Such App launched its beta version at the end of May.
3. The Grayscale Dogecoin Trust has now been approved, translating into actual capital inflows.
Brief comment: Unlike many newly launched MEME tokens, Dogecoin has more than a decade of accumulated history, along with a very broad community base and range of use cases. It has evolved from a purely speculative asset into a representative of value investing in the MEME investment sector. These multiple positive catalysts built up over time are something emerging MEME coins cannot match.
III. Key Indicators Requiring Validation Following a Push to $1:
Price: Hold the $0.10–$0.11 range and turn this resistance level into support, while avoiding a break below the $0.08–$0.085 support range.
Demand: The Grayscale Dogecoin Trust should show visible capital inflows, helping narrow price fluctuations.
Implementation: Advance merchant adoption and card integration, achieve scaled growth in actual transaction volume, and generate real payment flows. $DOGE
