#Gate资产规模全球CEX第六 Gate’s asset scale is only the starting point the more important question is what supports that $7B+ footprint.

Reserve strength: the first layer is asset coverage
Gate’s August 2026 transparency report puts total reserves at $8.215B, with an overall 127% reserve ratio. More importantly, the coverage is not limited to one or two major cryptocurrencies: Gate reports coverage across roughly 500 asset types. BTC reserves showed a 22.79% excess-reserve ratio, ETH 22.05%, while combined USDT, USDC, USD1 and GUSD reserves reached 111.63% coverage. This makes the reserve figure more informative than simply looking at a single headline number.

On-chain assets: size and methodology matter

DefiLlama currently tracks approximately $7.25B of Gate assets on-chain. Ethereum accounts for about $3.38B, Bitcoin roughly $1.52B, and BSC around $715M, with additional balances distributed across many other networks. The difference between this tracked on-chain figure and Gate’s reported $8.215B reserves is important: they measure different things, so the numbers should not be treated as interchangeable.

Capital flows: assets alone do not show user activity

Gate's August data recorded approximately $308.1M in 30-day net inflows, while its combined spot and derivatives trading volume reached about $9.5B over 24 hours. Net inflows show capital entering or leaving the platform, while trading volume shows how actively that capital is being used. Looking at both together provides a more complete picture than asset balances alone.

Derivatives: liquidity is becoming a major part of the story

Gate reported approximately $12.48B in open interest in August, placing it among the global top platforms by this metric. Its RWA perpetual market also captured 49.6% of global CEX RWA perpetual open interest according to Gate's cited August data. This matters because a large asset base is only useful to active traders if the platform can also support substantial positions and continuous liquidity.

TradFi expansion: the asset universe is getting wider

Gate's stock ecosystem expanded to more than 12,800 stock instruments, including around 300 newly added Japanese stocks during August. Stock perpetuals covered more than 360 underlying assets, CFDs reached 680 trading pairs, and overall TradFi coverage exceeded 1,000 assets. ETF products also reached 408 trading pairs, with approximately $20B in reported trading volume. The important point is not simply the listing count, but how this wider asset universe connects crypto-native liquidity with traditional markets.

Tokenized equities: from listings to actual market depth

DefiLlama Research recently highlighted Gate's 385 tokenized-equity perpetual contracts, describing Gate as having the largest such coverage among the exchanges it reviewed. That creates another layer to the platform's market structure: users are not only accessing cryptocurrencies, but increasingly trading products connected to equities and real-world assets through perpetual markets.

The key distinction: assets are not the same as reserves

This is where the numbers need to be read carefully. DefiLlama's tracked $7B+ represents on-chain assets visible through its methodology, while Gate's $8.215B figure represents the exchange's broader reported reserve base. Neither number alone tells us everything about liquidity, user activity or risk. Combining tracked assets + reserve coverage + net inflows + volume + open interest gives a much more complete picture.

The bigger Gate story

Gate's current data shows several different layers expanding at the same time: $8.215B reported reserves, 127% overall reserve coverage, $308.1M 30-day net inflows, ~$9.5B daily spot + derivatives volume, $12.48B open interest, 12,800+ stock instruments and 385 tokenized-equity perpetuals.

That is why the “Global CEX Top 6 by asset scale” headline is only one part of the story.

The deeper question is how effectively Gate can convert its growing asset base into liquidity, capital activity, diversified market access and transparent reserve coverage.

🏆 Gate’s asset scale rises to sixth among global CEXs; beyond size, its underlying strength is even more noteworthy

According to the latest data from DefiLlama, Gate’s platform assets exceeded $7.394 billion, ranking among the global top 6 centralized exchanges.

Meanwhile, Gate’s reserve coverage ratio reached 127%, remaining well above the 100% safety benchmark and covering nearly 500 types of user assets.
Rankings may change, but for trading platforms, what users truly care about over the long term is still asset scale, reserve protection, liquidity, and transparency.
