AMD has crossed the $1 trillion market-cap milestone but the bigger story is that the AI-chip rally is expanding beyond NVIDIA.
AMD closed around $615.52, after reaching a record $613+ intraday, pushing its market capitalization above $1 trillion for the first time. The stock gained roughly 9.6% in one session and extended its winning streak to five sessions.

The scale of the move becomes clearer when looking at the broader 2026 performance: AMD is up approximately 185% YTD, compared with roughly 15.8% for the Nasdaq. This is no longer just a single-session rally; AMD has become one of the strongest performers in the AI semiconductor trade.

The fundamentals are supporting that repricing. AMD reported $11.54B in Q2 2026 revenue, up 50% YoY, while Data Center revenue jumped 107% to $6.7B. Data Center therefore contributed roughly 58% of total quarterly revenue, showing how strongly AI infrastructure is influencing AMD's business mix.

Profitability is also moving in the same direction. Q2 GAAP net income reached $2.30B, up 163% YoY, while GAAP gross margin improved to 54%. At a roughly $1T valuation, AMD is therefore being valued against about $41.3B of trailing-12-month revenue, making the combination of revenue growth, Data Center expansion and earnings growth more important than the $1T headline itself.

The rally is also receiving sector confirmation. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index gained more than 3–4%, while ARM and Intel also posted strong advances. That suggests the move is part of a broader semiconductor rotation rather than AMD moving completely on its own.

AI demand remains the central catalyst. AMD says EPYC demand is accelerating, Instinct GPU deployments are scaling, and its Helios rack-scale AI platform is being deployed by major AI labs and cloud providers. If those deployments translate into sustained revenue growth, the current valuation becomes increasingly tied to the size of the AI infrastructure opportunity.

From the trading side, the next level I am watching is $600. After AMD's first sustained move above that psychological threshold, $600 can become an important reference point during any pullback. The next confirmation should come from volume versus average, RSI, MACD, 20/50 EMA, 24H performance, 5D momentum and the latest all-time-high structure.

The data chain is straightforward: $615.52 price → $1T market cap → +9.6% session → +185% YTD → $11.54B quarterly revenue → Data Center +107% → semiconductor index +3–4% → technical momentum → $600 psychological support. Together, these numbers show why AMD's milestone is more than a round-number valuation headline: the market is repricing AMD around accelerating AI demand, stronger Data Center growth and improving profitability.

AMD crossing $1T is the headline. The real market question is whether AI infrastructure demand can continue supporting the valuation beyond the milestone. $AMD
