Post

BTC just returned to around $81k, and ETH followed with a slight uptick. At times like this, what everyone really wants to see isn't who is shouting the loudest with trade calls, but where the money is actually parked and whether orders can be executed smoothly.

Gate stands out: BTC futures open interest is $5.25 billion, ranking second across the market; ETH futures open interest is $3.38 billion, also ranking second across the market. On the spot side, BTC's 24-hour volume is approximately $349 million, ranking second; ETH's is approximately $325 million, ranking third.

Put simply, it's not that there was suddenly a huge surge in volume today. It's more like people have been keeping their positions here on a regular basis. Major coins face the fiercest competition; smaller coins can still ride a new listing for a quick boost, but BTC and ETH are competing on depth, slippage, and whether capital is willing to stay overnight. Ranking in the top two for open interest at least shows this isn't just hype for the sake of visibility.

I trade major coins myself, and I look at three things: whether the order book is deep enough, whether entering and exiting is smooth, and whether the books can be reconciled if something goes wrong. Data shouldn't be treated as faith, but it's a little more reliable than slogans. When the market is recovering, this kind of underlying foundation is actually more worth watching than hot posts.
